Engineering an immersive lighting experience at the University of Adelaide's Nexus AI/VR Hub.
The brief called for two suspended illuminated grids, floating above the VR environment as continuous lines of light. No visible joints, RGBW colour mixing and tuneable white, all under DALI control so the ceiling could respond to the virtual content below.
Our team developed a purpose-built version of the Space 35 linear platform, with custom L, T and X junctions and bespoke PCB layouts that carry the RGBW circuitry uninterrupted through every intersection. Each grid was factory-built as four fully wired assemblies and joined onsite with concealed interlocking plates.
The result is a ceiling that reads as one continuous architectural element.
