Hee Ye gives you a breakdown on our Gesha Village Coffee Estate E-26 Rarities Special fermentation lot. She used is at the most recent SCASA | Specialty Coffee Association of Southern Africa National Barista Champs for her espresso and sig bev course so she knows it really well! 💪🏽

Coffee from this estate are always special and represent a unique experience in the cup however, we do recommend it as espresso and filter as it does come across quite light in milk 🥛

On filter, it opens with lots of citrus and stone fruit, with dried apricot standing out particularly clearly 🍊🍑Orange blossom carries through from start to finish, giving the coffee a gentle but distinctly aromatic character 🌼 On espresso, the fruit becomes fresher, bringing notes of mandarin and orange alongside the orange blossom. With milk, the coffee becomes softer and more delicate, showing a comforting vanilla cream biscuit character.

KENYA KATHANDE WASHED 🇰🇪

Another familiar favourite is back - Kenya Kathande AA 😎

Our third and final lot this year from , this year's lot of Kathande is similar but different! Still juicy but less stone fruit, still great on milk but more sweet than spice 😋

This lot from the Kathande Coffee Factory is a SL28 and Batian blend and undergoes the classic Kenyan fully washed process, with a two-stage fermentation. After pulping, the ripe cherries undergo an initial 20–24 hours of fermentation before being washed and fermented again for another 20 hours. The coffee is then washed, graded in channels and dried on raised African beds.

This process contributes to the clean cup, bright acidity and juicy sweetness that Kenyan coffees are known for. Now live and online! 🙌🏽

We are growing (in more ways than one 😁😁😁) and we need to beef up the squad!

We are hiring (ASAP) in the following roles :

☕️ FULL TIME BARISTA

You don't need to have a wealth of experience here. We'll teach you most of what you need to know, in the way we do it. We just need a few (2 - 3 to be exact) lekker people! There's a lot of room for growth - we like to think that the coffee world is your oyster when you work with us 💡

🛠️ ROASTERY OPERATIONS SUPPORT

Do you want to move into the roastery space? Become a roaster? Roastery QC? This is a foot in the door 🚪The role begins with supporting Leigh and Euan in the roastery and a few barista shifts. We'd need you to have a bit more coffee experience here but apply and let's chat about it!
