PS: In this video we’re crafting Mini Sourdough Brioche Burger Buns for a lovely wine farm in the area. Our brioche burger buns are made of: flour, water, salt, butter, eggs and milk.

Hiring: Part-Time Front of House (FOH) Service Assistant - Position available as of 15.05.2026

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused FOH team member to support our shop operations and help deliver a great customer experience: 20 hours, 32 hours or 40 hours per work week.

🕒 Working days & availability

Our shop is currently open Tuesday–Saturday
Because we also do markets in the area, you must be available for Sunday work
Shifts may start early (depending on the day/market schedule)

✅ Key responsibilities
Serving customers warmly and efficiently
Operating the POS system (cash + card payments)
Handling basic cash-ups and end-of-shift procedures (where required)
Packing orders, managing reservations, and supporting smooth service flow
Keeping the shop area clean, tidy, and stocked
Communicating clearly with the team to ensure correct orders and great service
Barista Experience or love for coffee is a plus! 🙂

✅ Requirements
At least 2 years FOH experience (preferred)
Experience with POS systems and a strong understanding of handling payments
Reliable and punctual (non-negotiable)
Strong customer service and good communication skills
Excellent English (spoken + written)
Well-presented, professional, and calm under pressure
Able to follow SOPs and work with attention to detail
Legal right to work in South Africa (work permit if not an RSA citizen)

About the Role
We’re looking for a dependable, friendly Front of House team member to represent BÄCKEREI at the Elgin Railway Market. You’ll serve customers, manage stock and sales, and help maintain the smooth running of our market stand.

Requirements
- Reliable own transport to Elgin – non-negotiable
- Best suited for someone from Somerset West/Strand or Elgin/Grabouw area
- If based in Elgin/Grabouw: meet at the market (goods delivered)
- If based in Somerset West: pick up goods and drive with company vehicle to Elgin (valid driver’s license required)
- Good with numbers and accurate with sales reconciliation
- Organised and detail-oriented, able to track stock throughout the day
- Friendly, outgoing personality – you enjoy engaging with customers
- Dependable and punctual – early starts are part of the job
