What started out as me shadowing my granny in her kitchen, & being assigned the pleasurable yet guilty task of tasting, my love and passion for baking arose. My ultimate goal is to allow you to indulge in the guilty pleasures that we often restrict ourselves from. Foo(n)dee offers a specialised service designing and making cakes and cupcakes for all occassions, by never compromising on quality and

taste. As my slogan says, Foo(n)dee allows you to "eet what you luv and luv what you eet".

We all know how treacherous jhb roads and (some) drivers can be! The backstory to this cake is that we almost had an accident on the way to deliver this elegant piece. A driver skipped a stop street, we had to jam brakes and the The cake fell over 👀👀. Eeeekkkkk. Mind you, this near accident happened about 2 hours before the event was due to start. Anyway, we got the cake back home and managed to redecorate it within an hour and a half. Bakers will tell you that this is by no means an easy feat. And even more arduous when faced with load shedding 👀

Images 1-3 are the initial design. Images 4-5 are the “do-over” and if you look carefully you can see subtle subtle differences in the two designs. They’re both still beautiful in my very humble opinion 😉😘

And why would I even tell you all of this? Well it’s to help you understand that when I say “it’s more than just cake” you have a visual story in your mind of what that means (don’t worry I have more stories to share). It’s also to assure you that noma kuganjani (no matter what), I will always do my very very best to get your order to you in tip top condition! 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼

I had 8 hours to conceptualize,bake, level, stack and decorate this piece 👀 Guys!! Baking during stage 7 load shedding is *amazing* for an adrenaline ju**ie like myself.
Bear in mind, I had to mix a trio of colours to achieve the colour you see on the cake 😉

Tshepo and I agreed on a travel themed cake with a burgundy (burGUNdy 😂), white and gold colour scheme. From there on, I could do anythanggg and considering the limited time I had to put this together, I am so thrilled with how it turned out. I replaced the obvious symbol related to travel, aero planes, with hearts because LOVE will always be a constant on any journey through any space and time 🙏🏼♥️ at least that’s my wish for Tshepo and how I view life in general ♥️🥰
