I turned 40 in April. Life was as crazy then as it is now - my theme was ‘ah, F it!!’ Much like anyone of us feel when we think about turning 40.

So I decided to bake a cake to fit the theme. I took some inspo from one of my favorite childhood movies - Cinderella - where one of the fairies tried to bake a cake without magic. Yes, my cake wasn’t 17 layers large, and I had no broom to keep it upright, but I enjoyed just being random with this cake.

I added some of my own ‘magic’, to make it just like me, a beautiful, delicious mess!! My guests loved it, and we came home with not one slice left.
