My son drew this diagram for me. It’s similar to the LEGO booklet that shows you the parts and then how it is put together. He started off with blue buttercream because he saw the blue food colouring. I took the empty bottles home so we could put the food colouring in his bath, just to make it fun. The one bottle was standing on the kitchen counter and he thought about his birthday cake. So he started drawing the items. He started off with the blue buttercream, a sprinkle, an astro, a smartie, and the cake. He was playing with a little bunny toy and a dinosaur. So he drew those to also put on the cake. He also drew a heart, which he wanted on the cake. And then he put it all together. He also made a tick mark and a cross on top to show which items on the page has to be on the cake and which shouldn’t be on the cake. You can see which items definitely has to be on the cake, and which not… We also did an experiment earlier the day, of which he also drew a diagram. And he said, do not do experiments near my cake. There us even an eye watching me to make sure I follow the diagram exactly… And the bottom diagram, I think it’s a little monster, maybe hovering over a cake. And that also has a cross on that should not be on the cake. And a little other part of the diagram has him trying to show his hands making a little heart shape. So you’ll see that to the right side, these two crosses on either side of a heart. So that’s his little hands making a heart shape. My heart just melts. So, of course, I had to make this cake exactly as he planned. I did add his name and a five inside the topper. I thought I would just make it extra special for him.
His face says it all… A memory I will treasure forever…
