NOW FOR 2019 WEDDING GOWN TRENDS

Wedding dresses in 2019 will be sheerer than ever! Low backs and curving silhouettes with full, detacheable trains will be a favourite choice for many brides.

There will be a huge return to simple and classic wedding gowns.
Regal-, Classic and Simple styles have made a dominant come back after the two Royal weddings last year. Clean lines with little or no embellishment. Super simple and elegant dresses, enhanced with detailed veils, removable trains or large puffed sleeves.

Halter-necks
Another style that's been influenced by the royal wedding, is the rise of the halter-neck wedding dress.

Tiaras
“With the recent royal weddings, tiaras are taking the stage again as brides try to create their fairy tale dream wedding complete with a princess bride”, says Meghan Brumbley, owner and lead planner at DC Engaged.

Sleeves
Voluminous bridal sleeves are back and better than ever. A far cry from the outdated puffed versions of the '80s, these gauzier versions are pure romance, especially when paired with a curve-skimming silhouette.
Go classic with a one-shoulder dress finished off with a bow or embellishment on the shoulder, or add drama with a full-on, one-sleeve gown.

Sheer Capes & Capelets
For 2019, we’ll see shorter and sheerer capes, softly draped over exposed shoulders. Wear a cape with a strapless or off the shoulder wedding dress, for the ultimate feminine look.
A full-length or short bridal cape is the perfect alternative to a veil. Wear a cape or capelet during your ceremony and remove it for your reception.

WEDDING TRENDS 2019
”Wedding trends in 2019 will bring metallics, colour and big florals into this year’s wedding style and design. From textured walls and place settings, to balloons and macarons, it will be a unique year filled with bright colours, bright lights and bright ideas” - ‘Bellagala’

FLOWERS
When it comes to flowers in bouquets, brides are choosing quality over quantity.
Big Bloom Booms
Pale flowers and the all greenery scenes of 2017, will make way for bright flowers. Flowers will be bigger and brighter in 2019 with Peonies, Dahlias, large open roses. Garlands are here to stay, but this year, they will have large, bright blooms, entwined with candles of all heights. Many weddings will also feature structural floral installations. Bridal bouquets in 2019 will have giant amazing blooms, such as garden roses, peonies, and protea.

Dahlias
Brides will be flocking toward dahlias in 2019, says Joan Wyndrum of Blooms by the Box. "They are the quintessential focal flower for any arrangement because of their wide color variety and intricate layers. Ranunculus will be the big pick for any bride desiring a romantic flower with a bit of whimsy."

“The big floral trend is taking over, and in 2019 we will be stepping under floral archways. Greenery, garlands, flowers and vines will adorn ceremony arches both indoors and out.” - Bellagala

Rust is the new hot metallic.
“Metallics have evolved from shiny silvers and golds to matte copper and brass, and now they’re progressing to rust. “I'm really excited to be using rust as a fall tone and metallic accent for a new look as one of the top 2019 wedding trends,” says Millikin. When using rust in your wedding palette, include a brighter colour to ensure that it doesn’t look too dark. Two color palettes Christina recommends that include rust are: rust with navy and grey and rust paired with cream and burgundy. Add a splash of coral flowers for the 2019 trendy look!

Mix & Match Place Settings
Not only is this a trend at receptions, but it's also gaining popularity for registries, say the experts at Canvas Home.

WEDDING CAKES
Opulent wedding cakes
We've seen a lot of amazing wedding cakes, but 2019 will welcome even more impressive creations. 2018's royal weddings are likely to inspire couples to make more opulent choices. Metallic touches, personalised monograms and regal piping will be on everyone's cake agenda. Even more exciting are the amazing array of textures we're expecting - rippled icing, decorative finishes and show-stopping sugar flowers will take guests' breath away. It's all about bespoke – let the your imagination soar and the magic begin.

EXPERIENCES
No longer are brides and grooms choosing suppliers to work on their weddings but they are now choosing to work with planners who create a journey and experience for all the guests to enjoy. This can be from scenting invitations to immersive decoration creating a wedding experience that stays with your guests for long after the wedding day itself. FOOD
When it comes to food, expect to see many artistic edible displays.

More and more couples are turning food into art, according to WeddingWire.
Many weddings in 2019 will also have HARVEST TABLES.
Guests can look forward to snacking on different breads, meats, fruits, nuts, cheeses, chocolates, and more.
Edible wedding favours will be another huge trend. Ideas for food- and drink-related favors include artisan olive oils, custom hot sauces, and special spice blends, to name a few.

We have created two collages with the latest wedding trends to inspire our 2019 brides - one for spring and summer, and the other for autumn and winter.

Theunis and Lomé du Bruyn's bushveld wedding at Goedgedacht Game Ranch, Groblersdal, was one of the high lite's for us this year! This awesome bushveld venue, nestled between the Waterberg Mountains, near Loskop Dam, is a hidden jewel! The peace and tranquility at this beautiful venue makes you want to stay much longer.....
We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Management of Goededaght Wedding Venue, for their great hospitality and excellent service. You truly made our task to transform this venue into Theunis and Lomé's fairytale wedding, a great pleasure and so much easier.
Planning this wedding was a great challenge, as almost everything had to be transported from Pretoria to Goedgedacht. Without the magnificent work of Alan and David of Caari Flora for their most beautiful flowers, decor, furniture and harvest table, and Theo of Softlight Events for the brilliant fairy lights, this would have been completely impossible. Many thanks for your tremendous, and awesome work! What a joy it was working with you! Thank You!!!
