Good day guys.
Today I'm coming to you as a baker and tell you that things don't always work out.
These are the type of things a few bakers don't share. But today i thought I would share this. So that everyone can be aware of this type of situation in the future.
So Friday morning YML got a call on 99.9 if YML could help out baking the cupcakes and cake for a sweet ladies mothers 90th birthday.
Becaus of circumstances, YML took the order by help this sweet lady.
Long storie short.
The bases was baked and the cake and cupcakes were decorated.
2 hours before the Lady's son came to collect the cake and cupcakes... The cake was done and in the fridge with the cupcakes. (a lot of people can agree that the heat waves we are getting today is terrible). Note i did put the baked good in the box an into the fridge. I've send her pictures of how everything looked and she was happy... She even called and a praised about the cake and asked if she has to put the cake inside the fridge
The guy stoped at the gate my geandfather help me carry the cake and cupcakes to the car and then the guy took the baked goods an put it in the boot of the car...
Just a reminder, My grand mother and here domestic worker was with me while i was baking, and my grandmother ate the ofcuts from the cake (so it wasn't raw), my mother stood by my side while i was decorating the cake, and my grandfather was with me while i put the baked goods inside the box and back in the fridge and giving it to the lady's son. SO EVERYTHING WAS 100% PERFECT.
Guys the moral of the story is...
You will get days when things don't go as planned and you know you've put your best in to a cake, everything is great when you've done your job and as soon as the cake is out of your hands and on its way to be enjoyed and something happens to it, its not your problem anymore. (regarding the law)
Guys when transporting baked goods please make sure not to put it in the back of you car (boot) and keep the aircon on to help keep the car cool inside for the cake... If the car is hot inside, the cake will most definitely melt and make the base soggy "raw" because all of the moisture goes in to the base.
A nother reminder.
Every business or person goes through judgment, name and shaming, and rumors.
Its you as a person or business that can learn and make a change out of situations like this....
So please guys if you want to report what happend feel free to do so, bakers got rights aswell
