Simple reason why graduates don't make it in business compared to drop outs.
1) Our education system does not necessarily test intelligence but test memories.
2) The education system teaches to follow and respect system. But in business you have to challenge all the system and take difficult decisions
3) Entliment mentality. You see a drop out fight knowing that he needs that he is fighting for. A graduates feels he could be employed somewhere.
4) Humility. Sometimes presenting yourself to clients and customers is very critical. The knowing all posture could be what made that client not to sign the contract. But the level headed presentation and egar to learn made the client sign.
5) Hunger. The Hunger to prove oneself is more on the drop out who have no certificate to prove his worth but the graduates will be thinking the profile will speak for him.
6) Teachable. Business is a total learning centre. Everyday you learn new things. To a drop out is an opportunity to learn adpat and be creative to survive. For the graduates is time to prove how wrong are the systems, the people and the logic. Trying hard to introduce theories learned in class.
If you want to start a business and make it. High drop outs in Production, Marketing and even Acounting you will always get the results compared to when you start with graduates. The graduates will be concerned about the reputation of their professions and certificate. The drop out will be concerned of building their reputation and creat a name for themselves.
But I am not suggesting that graduates cannot run business or help business to grow.
I am simple suggesting that immediately after graduation, lock that certificate in a box and wear the following.
1) Humility
2) Hunger to perform
3) Teachable spirit
4) Creativity
5) innovation
6) Displine
