We specialize in Novelty Cakes. It's hours of work, sometimes even days and weeks of preparation. We love the creative aspect of producing little figures with our hands and moulding the flowers and animals. Toppers bring a huge smile to my face and especially seeing the faces of our customers and their guests when they find everything including the topper is edible.
We at Comet Cakes have been in business for over 8 years and we’ve started with a family of Bakers. My grandfather owned a Bakery in Pietermaritzburg and he was a renowned Pastry Chef. He was known for the delicious pastries and cakes that he baked. Incredibly, 40 years later people still refer to me as Clemmie's Great Granddaughter who inherited his talent and creativity in the kitchen.
We are extremely passionate about baking. I find myself working throughout the night often, only to realize that I haven’t slept a wink. I pride myself on being meticulous and precise in everything. I have an eye for detail which displays it in my love for cakes. I always strive for perfection, from the baking to design of my products and I believe that cake must not only look stunning but taste, oh so divine!
