Some people who are not bakers are arguing in my comment section that my cakes are “too expensive.”

They are saying they are used to paying R300 or R580 for the same type of cakes. The cake I’m charging R1600 for me is realistic,I’m not forcing anyone to pay it,I’m just being honest about what goes into my craft.

I’ve spent weekends baking 5 cakes in a row and by the time I finish, all I have is a sore body and R150 in my account. It’s not easy..

If you think your baker is “benefiting” by charging R500 for a cake that realistically costs R1500, know this: you’re hurting the baker, not helping. Many bakers depend entirely on this income and end up undercharging just to survive.

💛 Appreciate the work, skill and love that goes into every cake…it’s more than just ingredients, it’s sweat, time and talent.
