Yesterday, a customer called me asking for a quote on a two-tier cake. Since it was late, I asked if I could send it to her today. She sent over her inspiration cake this morning, but after I gave her the price, she laughed and said her budget was only R1000 for a two-tier cake! 😭😭
It’s so true that customers don’t realize how expensive ingredients are or how much time and labor go into making custom cakes.

Fellow bakers, how do you politely handle the budget shock when clients see custom prices?😄😄🤣🤣.
