Seventy years after the historic Women's March of 1956, a new exhibition turns the focus to another powerful form of expression: the marks women make through art.

🎨 Women Making Their Mark is on at Art&About, 8 Merchant Place, Sandton, until 15 November 2026.

Drawn from the FirstRand Art Collection, the exhibition brings together approximately 100 works by women artists across generations and disciplines - painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media and works on paper - offering diverse perspectives on identity, experience, place and the world around us.

Featured artists include Aida Muluneh, Carin Scrimgeour, Cow Mash, Esther Mahlangu, Gabrielle Kruger, Georgina Gratrix, Heidi Fourie, Irma Stern, Kilmany-Jo Liversage, Lebohang Motaung, Marlene Dumas, Maude Sumner, Nadia Were, Nompumelelo Ngoma, Mary Sibande and Zanele Muholi.

He's back. For one week only.

Nik Rabinowitz is bringing 'Mountain Jew' to Theatre on the Square, Sandton and if you know Nik, you know this is not a show to skip.

Raised in a converted barn on the slopes of Constantiaberg, this mountain-farm-boy-turned-comedian spent his childhood climbing trees and commentating on his own rugby matches in all three official languages (obviously). Then came Waldorf school, where he mastered the art of crocheting his feelings and learned to divine the exact spiritual frequency of organic fair-trade mohair, using nothing but a pentatonic flute and a watercolour of a gnome.
