GLAZE Patisserie is more than just cake, it’s an experience, an art form, a sweet adventure, and at its core, a taste of French pastry in the heart of Cape Town. The GLAZE RECIPE… a history

Much like all great cakes, GLAZE began with a spark of curiosity, which led to an impulsive inspiration. This whimsical fancy of patisserie was soon followed with the usual mixture of the perfect ingredients;

a dash of patience, a lot of love, hours of toil and a trip to the pastry schools of France thrown in for good measure. With the ingredients mixed and the raw batter baked, creation was concluded, and with the typical opulence of all French fancies and the decadence of Parisian pastries, GLAZE was ready to be served. Appreciation of art form is often limited to the canvas, the musical note or the page of a book, but to confine the beauty of art merely to these media is to ignore the splendor to be found in the perfection of patisserie. In a world too busy for poetry or painting, Glaze offers a new form of art, where the only thing more beautiful than the cakes themselves is the sacrifice of the cake to its tasting. GLAZE’s clients all have one thing in common; a wish to indulge in the luxury of perfectly crafted French desserts. Before we know it the festive season will be upon us and what better way to celebrate than with delicious biscuits and macarons 🌺

This year I’m continuing with my delicious snowflake biscuits and biscuit trees. It makes a lovely gift for a teacher or friends and family.

Choose between vanilla, gingerbread and mixed spice packets or a mix of all three flavours. Each biscuit is individually baked and piped by me so you know a lot of love is going into each one 😉

Packets of snowflake biscuits are R130 for 11.
Christmas trees are R80 each.

The new additions this year are my delicious pastel macarons and mince pies. Macarons can be kept in the freezer and taken out 2 hours before any special occasion or celebration.
Boxes are made up of 16 or more macarons with mixed flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, salted caramel, coffee, coconut, pistachio, raspberry and passionfruit.

A box of 8 macarons R144
A box of 16 macarons R256 and any additional macaron will be charged at R18,00 per macaron.

Box of 6 mince pies for R96
Box of 12 mince pies for R192
And any extra mince pie will be charged at R16 each. Want to make it more decedent? Add our delicious brandy buttercream on top! Each mince pie at R23 with brandy buttercream.

Please let me know if you’d like to order - the first batch of biscuits, macarons and mince pies will be ready from the 10th of November until the 15th of December.

Then for the kiddies, we have: “Build you own gingerbread houses”
Box includes gingerbread pieces, icing, decor and instructions for R280

It’s been a busy old time, with raising a toddler, a 7 month old and pretty much working full time. So sometimes I forget to post cakes on insta 😅 here are some cakes I did over the last couple of months.

Love how I get to do all sorts of different cakes- keeps my creative juices flowing! Off to the berg for some R&R with friends and family soon.

Do you also feel like this year is just flying by? Each year just seem to go by faster than the previous… so try and appreciate each moment (even the tough one)
