Why talking about cocoa origins only?
To sweeten our products, we use organic raw cane sugar from the Natìve green cane project.
This sugar mill in Brasil is an example par excellence to showcase that regenerative organic can succeed at scale!
A few of the many incredible achievements of Natìve:
•Organic farming for 30 years, and it's now one of the world's biggest farming projects.
•Natìve invented a green harvest machine that is stripping and shredding the leaves and spreading them on the fields as mulch (instead of burning the fields before harvesting the cane). This led to 3% increase of organic matter in the fields in 30+ years.
•Their average yield is 20% higher than conventional agriculture
•They are a carbon neutral company, and this includes even transport emissions to EU.
In fact, the carbon emissions are even lower compared to EU beet sugar with savings of 462kg CO/t2
•They are energy self-sufficient and a neutral system in greenhouse gas emissions.
By burning the sugar cane bagasse (residue from production) clean and efficiently, the generated steam is converted into thermal, mechanical, and electrical energy.
The electric energy cogeneration system is neutral in the emission of greenhouse gases.
•Natìve is involved in many more environmental projects like the natural evolution of water resources, generating biodiversity, production of renewable alcohol fuel, social responsibility projects, fair trade certified since 2014, and much more.
