9 months ago, after many months of pondering and much unease i decided to leave my very comfortable job in the corporate world to run my Accounting Practice. It was not an easy decision to make. To this day, I still say I spent too much time thinking about whether or not to quit the job. So many questions came to mind. Are you ready? Will you be able to survive? In this economy?
The passion to help small business with their big problems was enough to make me take the leap. The big difference I had been making with the small clientele I had was the push I needed.
Needless to say, I took the plunge. I jumped ship. I set my sights to sail aboard a new ship, the Regent Business Solutions ship. I did it scared and uncertain about the future, but I did it. After much prayer and meditation and planning, I quit my job and set sail. "Sizobona khona".
How dare I leave my comfort zone, leave a comfortable management position to go deep into the unknown. No more payday, no more certainty. Just wilderness. It
The last 9 months has been an interesting ride, so much to do, so little time. Small team, big deadlines, small budget...but very BIG dreams.
At the end of the day, my passion has always been to help the Small/Medium business owner achieve their goals without worrying about the "Accounting Jargon" and redtape that comes with statutory compliance.
Today, 9 months later. I must say, we are not where we started. We have been amassed with so many "thank you's", challenges and milestones reached. We have given birth to something amazing.
Has it been challenging? Hell, yeah!!
Do I regret quitting my corporate job? Hell, No!!
Am I loving every moment of the thrill ride? Hell, yeah.
We've only just begun!!
