I haven't baked in quite a while because I have a little blessing that keeps me quite busy everyday π. So last week I decided let me try out a new cake recipe for my birthday. So yesterday all was going well, Skye was sleeping and halfway through making the batter for the cake she wakes up. I then realised juggling a newborn and baking cake is actually hard work π. Nevertheless, I got the cake in the oven. I didn't get round to ice the cake until late the evening when my husband could hold her a bit and keep her company. There is a reason why cakes should be completely cooled and set before you ice them π. I opted for plain caramel and ganache because I just didn't have the energy to make buttercream icing and to decorate the cake like I usually would have. As I iced the cake, I could see a disaster happening in front of my eyes π why? Because the cake was still too fresh to ice. So as I iced, the cake came with the spatula π I ended up demotivated haha and told my hubby I should have just gotten myself a choc chip muffin from MUGG & BEAN SA (because their muffins are life π)
I can safely say that no, I am not ready to take orders again even though I thought I was. But hopefully in a couple of months time I can open up my diary again to take orders and make tummies and hearts happy π»
P.S. the cake still tastes good π
