🍊 LA DOLCE VITA — THE SWEET LIFE

When the brief is La Dolce Vita, ordinary simply won’t do. 🇮🇹🥂

For this special 50th birthday, we created a 70 × 20 cm Kiaat serving tray featuring a bespoke resin inlay infused with vibrant orange, soft peach, sunny yellow and shimmering gold — a little Italian-inspired glamour, perfectly in tune with the invitation and celebration theme. ✨

But at Thyme & Dine, it’s the little details that make the magic. 💫

We went one step further, curating a mini floral arrangement in the same beautiful colour palette, finished with a bold orange and yellow bow that brought the whole look together. A pop of colour, a touch of luxe, and a whole lot of love. 🧡💛

Because a milestone birthday deserves more than a gift… it deserves a moment, a memory, and something made just for you.

Some gifts are more than just gifts… they become a reflection of the person they’re made for.

We had the pleasure of creating this 80cm x 20cm bespoke Kiaat Charcuterie Tray for Girl in the Field — an open studio and creative community space in Mangete. 🌿

A very special gift from family, this piece features the Girl in the Field logo prominently engraved on the right, flowing into a stunning resin river of Purple, Red, Twilight, Sapphire, Sky Blue and Emerald. 💜❤️💙💚

A piece created not simply to serve, but to celebrate creativity, connection, family and the beautiful spaces we create for others.

We were privileged to bring this special gift to life and hope it becomes part of many beautiful gatherings, creative moments and cherished memories at Girl in the Field.

Bespoke Hospitality, Made to Gather Around ✨

We had the pleasure of creating a custom Braai Board for J&K Holiday Homes — a statement piece designed for relaxed entertaining and memorable moments around the fire. 🔥

Handcrafted from rich Red Ironwood, this bespoke board features a CNC-cut J&K logo, beautifully complemented by a striking teal-blue resin inlay.

Three stainless-steel serving bowls are seamlessly set into the board, making it both practical and elegant — perfect for holiday braais shared with family and friends.

To complete the set, we paired it with a Kiaat serving tray, finished with a precision laser-engraved logo.

J&K Holiday Homes offers a small collection of modern, fully equipped and recently renovated holiday accommodation within Caribbean Estates, Port Edward.

Each home is privately managed and maintained to a consistent standard, with an emphasis on comfort, practicality and ease of use — the perfect setting to slow down, gather together and create those special holiday memories. 🌊🌿

Sometimes the greatest difference is made in the simplest moments… 💚

I first had the privilege of being helped by John Booysen, who not only helped me with my lenses, but became a friend I will always be grateful to have crossed paths with. John has since relocated and gone on to conquer another incredible chapter — qualifying as a medical doctor. 🩺✨

So, when I needed to consult again, I found myself in the very capable hands of his dad, Dr Dirk Booysen — optometrist, lecturer, author and an incredible wealth of knowledge in the world of optometry and contact lenses.

But beyond the qualifications and impressive career, what stood out to me most was his kindness.

There is something so special about someone who makes you feel like you are the only person on their schedule that day. No rushing. No feeling like just another patient. Just genuine care, patience and a quiet willingness to help.

It reminded me that while knowledge and expertise are important, the way we make people feel is what they remember.

Thank you, Dr Booysen, for your gentle nature, your time, your care and for making a difference in people’s lives — one patient at a time. 🌿
