Tonight is my most difficult departure from Cape Town ever.
My heart is heavy and sad as we all remember how you always said you didn't like goodbyes as we never know when and how we meet again....
My mind has been racing since that phone call yesterday morning...
Its filled with our last conversation, things you said, things we laughed about.
I recall the last time I saw you. My very short visit to Cape Town but the very special.memories. It was as if Allah SWT brought our families together one more time...my mom and all her kids and grandkids, you and your kids and grandkids and we laughed and recalled memories from our childhood vists to Cape Town.
A visit to Cape Town and one where I didn't get to see you was never great so i always tried my best to make time for your smile and warm hugs. The days I would call from the airport and say slmz are you home im on my way for dinner, the times you would insist on fetching us from the airport or dropping us off, the times you would refuse for me to eat dinner alone and rather insisted I join you all at your home for supper, the times we went out for a cup of fokkie...lol oops coffee and even ice cream....visits to Moro will never be the same...
Then the times you would stay with us on your visits to Joburg and we would sit around the kitchen table late at night talking and catching up or we would go visiting n galavanting. When you would scold me and tell me im not taking care of Rashaad Mamoojee and he wss looking unwell n tired...
My list of memories is endless and alhamdullilah im so glad I got to do so much with you.
My list of memories goes on and on and on and this page is not long enough for all of them...
You were a 2nd mother, a friend and a very special aunt to me, and that void will never be filled by anyone else.
I will always treasure you.
May Allah SWT be pleased with all your deeds and efforts. May He grant you the highest abode in Jannah and may we all be reunited in Jannah Inshaallah.
Till we meet again....FiAmaanillah
