Hluhluwe Queen Pineapples produces most of the fresh Queen pineapples available on the South African market and was established on the 11 November 1988.

A little spring freshness with a touch of heat! 🍍🌶️🥗

Sweet, charred Queen pineapple, a hint of chilli and lime, served with creamy cottage cheese and crisp cucumber. Fresh, colourful and perfect for these in-between spring days! 🍍☀️

INSTRUCTIONS
- 400g Queen pineapple
- 1 lime
- 50g sugar
- Piri-piri seasoning & chilli flakes
- 250g smooth cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 150g cucumber

INSTRUCTIONS
Coat the pineapple in lime, sugar and chilli, then grill for 2–3 minutes per side. Whip the cottage cheese with honey and turmeric, then serve with the warm pineapple and cucumber. 🍍🥗🌶️

NOTE: BLACK SPOT🍍⚫️

Black spot is something you might see certain times of the year, it happens when the fruit is in its flowering stage and the flower is still open and gets damaged. Therefore it is only spots that are damaged and not the whole fruit. The spots that you see are not rotten and can be cut out. Our farmers do try and control it with quality control, but sometimes it does slip through when packed. We are also continually doing trials to see how we can overcome it🍍🍍

Pineapple Cucumber Salad 🍍🥗🥒

Fresh, crisp and full of flavour! 🍍🥒 The perfect refreshing salad for warmer days. ☀️

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh pineapple, diced
- 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced
- ¼ red onion, finely sliced
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Fresh cilantro or mint leaves, chopped
(optional)

Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the pineapple,
cucumber and red onion.

2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together chili
powder, lime juice, honey, and salt.

3. Pour the dressing over the fruit and
vegetables, then toss gently to coat.

4. Let the salad sit for 10–15 minutes to allow
flavors to meld.

5. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
