Artist of the month 🖌️🎨

For the past two decades, Noordhoek resident Gavin Thomson has made a name for himself as one of South Africa’s most prolific cartoonists.

As well as being a published editorial cartoonist whose work appeared for 10 years in the People’s Post and was commended at a national level at the 2013 Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards, he has also illustrated numerous children’s story books including the ‘And Friends’ series written by Roy Harding, Jesus stories for Little Zebra Books and The Bungle in the Jungle by John Bush.

He has degrees in film and media, psychology, fine art and is currently completing his honours in visual communication design.
Fynn uses photography as a means of connecting to himself and his immediate environment. His work explores themes of identity, family and belonging.
