Sometime at the beginning of this year, I decided to make my version of the viral fruit pops 🤭
Why? Because I love trying things, and I’m naturally curious like that 😅
I’m not sure I’ll ever add these to my products, guys, because they are such a piece of work 🤦🏽‍♀️

I did enjoy making the fruity ice cream from scratch though. The ice cream is so good, it literally deserves to be on the shelves 👌😋

There was a time I used to use ganache and fondant on my cakes a lot, and yeses, that made the process much longer 🤦🏽‍♀️. But sharp fondant edges were a thing, and I was one of the first people to jump on the hype here in South Africa back in 2016. That alone brought me so many students from around the country and across the borders 🥰❤️.

Covering this cake in ganache took me down memory lane ❤️.

These days, I cover all my cakes with chocolate buttercream, and I’m very happy with that. But for this particular cake (for one of my very loyal corporate clients), I thought, “Let me pull out my ganache skills,” and wow… I absolutely loved the end result 🥰🥰🥰.

I can’t believe that when I started my cake business 11 years ago, I was obsessed with baking flat cakes 🤦🏽‍♀️ Who even came up with that rule anyway? What value does it really add to your business? I’m genuinely asking 🤭
That rule definitely doesn’t apply in my home bakery, because how am I supposed to enjoy my cakes if there’s nothing to trim off? 😫

Guys, my cakes are too good for me not to have a smallanyana dessert from them 🤦🏽‍♀️
I do have recipes that always bake flat — for example, my red velvet cake — and that annoys me so much because now I don’t get a proper dessert from the cut-offs 🤦🏽‍♀️😅 I only get crumbs! But trust me, I will always find a way to add some filling to those crumbs so I can experience exactly what my clients experience when they eat my cake 🤭
