A Brief Background & History of Rusks in South Africa...

A Rusk is a dry, hard biscuit or basically a twice-baked bread.
Rusks are also known as "beskuit" in Afrikaans and is traditionally an Afrikaner breakfast or anytime snack.

In South Africa, they have been made as a means of preserving bread, especially when travelling long distances without been able to refrigerate, since the late 1600's.

Rusks have continued through the Great Trek, The Boer Wars and through to the present modern days.

My Hand Made Rusks are made with a traditional recipe, with a difference.

My Rusk Range consists of the following:
