Two bakers 👇🏽
Baker A did proper costing.
Baker B didn’t.
Baker A bakes 3 cakes a month and ends the month with profit in the bank.
Baker B bakes 20 cakes a month, is fully booked, works day and night, is constantly stressed and exhausted, but ends the month in debt with only R20 left in the account. 🤷🏽♀️
That’s the difference costing makes.
Many bakers chase orders but profitable bakers chase profit.Even if I only get 3 cake orders a month, I won’t complain. I know those 3 cakes were priced correctly and made me money. I’ll use the rest of the month to rest, spend time with my family and wait for my target market.
Being busy and being profitable are two completely different things.
If you’re skipping the costing part of your baking business, you’re setting yourself up for failure. You can be fully booked and still be broke.
