Steam has begun implementing the 12% VAT in the Philippines. However, this VAT is not added on top of the game prices at checkout. Instead, it is already included in the listed prices, and the responsibility of absorbing the tax falls on the game publishers. This means Filipino users won’t see any additional charges when purchasing games.

Publishers may choose to adjust their pricing to account for the VAT, but the change is handled on their end, not passed directly to consumers.
