On the hook: A little taste of Mediterranean summer luxury... The studio is officially covered in coral! 🍊🌴
I’m currently working on a brand-new piece that I just couldn't wait to show you. This is the Nautilus Shell Bag, a stunning textured design that feels like pure coastal elegance.
There is a lot of hidden math and preparation behind this one! I am using a beautiful pattern from Etsy, but I wanted to adapt it to use premium DMC Eco Vita 100% wood-fibre raffia ( available at Lana Magica Calp).
Because it’s a completely different material than the original pattern called for, it took some serious hook-and-yarn weight recalculations to get the tension and structure just right—but the stitch definition is turning out beautifully!
Here is what is coming for the finished piece:
✨ A fully lined interior (safely keeping the sewing machine at bay for now!).
✨ A convertible, flexible chain-and-raffia strap so it can be worn comfortably cross-body, over the shoulder, or carried as a chic handbag.
✨ That unmistakable nautilus shell spiral shape.
I'm still debating one final design detail, though... to add the pearl bead accent strap, or to keep it entirely sleek and natural? What do you think? 👇
