There has been an unending debate about the most healthy options to choose when settling for a frosting. Would it be whipped cream or buttercream? While most persons just tell the baker to do what they feel like doing,let me list a few notable comparisons to guide your next purchase.
WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING
•It is made of cream
•It is light and airy and very delicious.
•It tastes just like your typical ice cream and pairs nicely with fillings like Dulce de Leche,chocolate,caramel etc.
•It has a moderate amount of sweetness (perfect for those who wants less sugar)
•Cakes absorbs the cream really well thereby making the cake really delicious and moist.
Disadvantages
•Needs cold environment
•Cannot be kept under the sun like your typical ice cream.
•It is not cheap
•Not a good choice for lactose intolerant people.
Buttercream
American butter cream frosting
•It is made with butter,sugar and Flavouring
• Has a mild grainy texture
• It is quite sweet(not great for those who want less sugar)
•Holds designs beautifully
•Can hold its shape well without refrigeration
•Can harden up(crust) quickly which is great for transportation.
•It is slightly cheaper.
Disadvantages
•Not super great with very moist cakes.
• A bit to sugary (not great for those who want minimal sugar)
•Flavour sensitivity
