Closing a Chapter at 131 Phan Chau Trinh 💔
What a ride it’s been. This building started as a one-room mini-mart — we tore down walls, expanded the roof, added a second floor, and dreamed big. Upstairs was once meant to be Coda Cocktail Bar (that never happened), but in April 2023, we opened Mosaic Gastropub by ourselves (after an eleventh-hour partner pull-out).
From tapas and David’s legendary cocktails to Drink & Draw, Women's Networking, Thanksgiving dinners, and Festivus parties — it was full of community building, laughter, heartache, learning, and 5-star memories. But after 14 months, the late nights took their toll, and we knew it was time to shift gears.
Then came Wrappers Delight — our fun little Grab burrito pop-up — before transforming the second floor into this version of Hoi An Pilates and launching Front Porch Café downstairs in February 2025. The space turned out stunning — warm, welcoming, and a beautifully executed concept. From baked goods to salads and sandwiches, we poured our hearts (and wallets!) into every detail.
In its short life, we hosted Hoi An Pilates member nights, fundraisers, and many a weary traveler who was thrilled to get a proper cup of Western coffee, sit in air-con, and swing on our swings. People loved Front Porch.
Unfortunately, the recent floods caused too much damage. Financially and emotionally, we can’t keep rebuilding. So, we’ve made the hard decision to close this chapter and walk away. No one ever said entrepreneurship was easy.
We’re endlessly proud of what we created here — a place built with soul, resilience, creativity, and community. Thank you to everyone who supported us through every pivot, project, and plate. 💛
