Sugar Shuga Desserts Sugar Shuga Desserts honors the generations of women in my family who have brought great joy to others through their timeless recipes.

This adventure has been a dream of mine for years. I have been influenced by so many wonderful cooks in my life — especially my grandmother and mother. I will never forget visiting family in Western Pennsylvania and watching Grandma Slayton whip up four batches of fudge at a time for us to enjoy. I also learned how delicious her cherry pie was by slowly eating the cherries, one-by-one, off the top

as it was cooling. Though scolded, it was completely worth it! Food has been a great joy in our family for generations and that is the reason for Sugar Shuga — celebrating my family’s legacy while allowing me the creative freedom to add my own twist. This is all done in an effort to meet today’s expectations and standards of taste.
