Giuseppe “the espresso hunk” that lived at now has a permanent home in my pantry! We also will still be slinging smoothies at home and continuing our love of all things beverage! Including boba! With much excitement we would like to welcome The Munching Moose to Zelienople. Formally know to you all as Sips and Sweets by Sarah. The Munching Moose will keep a similar menu serving cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, pepperoni rolls, cake pops and of course Boba Tea and smoothies. Many already know the owner Michael Hall. He owed General Rental Center for 27 years, has announced the annual 4th of July parade for almost 30years and has been a face around town to many. This is an exciting adventure and we can't wait to be apart of main street. Follow along and watch for up coming announcements on opening day.

Afraid you won’t be able to get your favorite bubble tea or cookies anymore? Fear not my friends! The Munching Moose will still be carrying most of your favorite goodies!!!! We are excited to announce that Mike Hall and his daughter Nikki will be keeping many of your favorite menu items stocked and ready! Through the month of April we will be training and transitioning the bakery from Sips to The Munching Moose! Here is a few words from new owner Mike AKA “Moose”

“If you don’t know me yet, you soon will. My name is Michael Hall and I’m excited to announce that after owning General Rental Center for 27 years, I took 1 month off, tried retirement, got bored and bought a local bakery you all know as Sips & Sweets located in Zelienople. I look forward to this next adventure and the rebranding of Sips & Sweets to, The Munching Moose. We will stick to a similar menu, so be sure to stop on by for your Bubble Tea, cookies, muffins and more!”

Join me in welcoming a familiar face to a more permanent spot in Zeli! And yes, he IS the voice of the 4th of July parade!!!!! Congrats Mike and Nikki! We are so excited for you to continue our legacy and build on it to create your own!

Long post warning…..
Well, today is the day I say goodbye to a vision I had for so many years. A place I thought of over and over again since I was a little girl. A dream that became a reality. However, sometimes dreams don’t always serve us the way we wish they would. From every possible hurdle to sleepless nights, dreams take a lot out of us. I would like to say I enjoyed every minute of it, but I didn’t! I didn’t enjoy the long hours or being away from my family, I didn’t enjoy when there were staffing issues or equipment failures. What I did enjoy though was meeting so many amazing people, feeding their souls with conversation and their tummies with treats from my little bakery and bubble tea shop. So many of you touch my heart and became friends. It’s funny the saying “A client will become a friend sometimes before a friend becomes a client” and it’s true! Owning a business is not for the weak, it’s not without heartache, loss and relentless will. Sometimes you have to listen to your gut and walk away. You have to do what’s best for you as difficult as it can be. But, the ray of sunshine through the clouds of a difficult decision and the weight lifted are blessings beyond compare. When I listed the business, I never thought I would be sitting here a little over a month later announcing the new owners. What this says to me is this;
I created something people love, I created something that people want and enjoy and I created something that someone else sees value in. I did that, all on my own- that’s something pretty special! I am beyond grateful for the last three years. I have grown leaps and bounds and I have learned so much about myself. I am proud of me, proud that I went for it. So without further ado…I introduce you to The Munching Moose and its owners….in the next post!

When things come full circle. Hard to believe over a year ago I made a sweet baby announcement cake for a couple and then they asked if I could make their miracle babies first birthday cake. I have been so blessed to have such amazing clients over the last few years! The story behind this brought tears to my eyes. God works in the most wonderful of ways!
Mix of vanilla bean and strawberry cake and frostings!

This post comes with mixed emotions but it also comes with a certainty that I am making the right decision for myself and for my family!

Those of you who have been following from day one know that I have always put my family first! While this was a massive dream of mine to open this little gem, I have come to the recent realization that I need to be focusing on my children and my own health right now. When they say time flies, it really does! With a graduating senior and two additional teenagers, I know my place is making sure that I am there for them. I have absolutely loved being a part of this community and meeting so many amazing people over the last two and a half years.

We have decided to sell the business in one of two ways:
1. as a Whole; lease takeover (*upon approval), business name, recipes, equipment, domain, etc…..
2. Equipment and Lease Only, no business name rights but an amazing opportunity to have a Main Street Zelienople, Pa storefront of your own in a space that has already been inspected and approved by the health department- ex. Candy store, bakery, grab and go food, coffee shop, bubble tea shop etc… the possibilities are endless

Of course things are absolutely negotiable and we are open to discussing things but again, only if you are truly serious about a commercial kitchen space!

I have absolutely zero regrets! And a big part of me is so sad to say goodbye, but when you pray on it and feel you are being guided in another direction, you 💯 % have to be true to yourself!

For now, we will continue to be open on Saturdays thru the next month or so until we finalize any details with a potential buyer or go in another direction! This is THE perfect starter space for anyone looking to make their dreams a reality!
