Hi everyone! This post is not about pączki. Infact, it's not even about Polish food at all. Tonight, while the kids were at volleyball 🏐 practice, Rich and I discovered a not so hidden gem in downtown Plainfield. A tiny little family owned Italian restaurant, Dario Mercato. It was like opening a door in downtown Plainfield and being transported to Italy. And the food...oh, the food!!! If you live in the area, it's a must try. I can't wait to go back!
Full disclosure: they serve European portions, not American, so if you are hungry, order an apetizer or salad in addition to your main course😉

P.S They had Italian framed soccer photos on the wall, I suggested they add volleyball photos since Italian men's and women's teams are world champs this year. Couldn't help myself😁

🇵🇱🇺🇲🏐🫣Poland is playing the US tonight in the Nation's Volleyball League right here in Chicago (Hoffman Estates)! I'm so conflicted on which team to be rooting for since I am a citizen of both countries and love them both! So....may the best team win!
My family and I get to go see Poland Vs. Brazil tomorrow!

The best thing we did was buy some 🍓strawberry and raspberry plants from Sucilla Farms a few years ago. It's the gift that keeps on giving, especially the raspberries that fruit ALL summer long😋
