Much Loaf,
Nancy Easier to digest, more protein, lasts longer, and freezes better than other breads (and thaws out like it's brand new fresh). It kept the gold miners warm, full, and happy through the harsh Winters. Nothing is quite as satisfying as a slice of sourdough bread with some butter on

it – or cheese, or floating on the top of your French onion soup, or on either side of a great tomato or grilled cheese sandwich, or as a perfect bruschetta base. The options are limitless! My sourdough starter (Dough Burrow) was given to me as a gift from a friend in New Orleans almost 14 years ago. It has been going gangbusters for me and bestowing upon us beautifully tart, tangy, lofty loafs – perfect sourdoughs. It's not just about baking! I love to teach the process, as well! I started teaching sourdough bread making courses at Auburn University in 2016, and have guided many home bakers into this joyful and tasty pastime. Baking is a sort of meditation for me. For you that means you get artisan bread made with love - the BEST ingredient of all! So for the first time ever in Cincinnati, I’m offering my home baked goodies for sale. It’s all made from scratch, with love, and with super high quality (and mostly organic) ingredients and a natural sourdough starter. It’s practically health food!

$8-10 per loaf or baguette

I am always trying new ways to flavor bread. Current favorites include:

Classic
Rosemary
Rosemary/onion
Hot red pepper
Onion
The Big Cheese
CHOCOLATE! Oh my!! Spiced Apricot
Cherry pie
Apple Pie

Breads come packaged in a clear, seamless, food safe bag with a signature “Hands Off My Loaf” label and all of the instructions you need to serve, store, and enjoy your loaf. With loaf,
Nancy Hand

So I decided to experiment a little bit and created what I lovingly call “Apric-Hot” 🍑🌶️ sourdough - basically I added red pepper to my spiced apricot sourdough.

Little bit sweet, little bit spicy, a lot like me.

And it is freaking fantastic 🤤🙌

It’s got a good chewy/ crusty outside and a fluffy, soft, springy interior.

After our 12 + months of moving upheaval last year, my loaves didn’t look like this. They were “good enough”, tasty…but not exactly showstoppers.

That happened because I wasn’t baking a whole lot, and as with anything, I got out of practice. And my starter (now the “Bread Pirate Roberts”) went through it too – different water, different environment. We all had to get acclimated.

Sourdough isn’t rocket science, but it sure helps to be doing it on a regular basis. That’s when your loaves become beautiful works of art. Those are the ones you’re so proud to share.

The same thing happens with our communication and the ability to connect deeply with other people.

If it’s not something you’re doing on a regular basis or if home and work aren’t actually havens of thoughtful, respectful, enjoyable, and even sometimes joyful interactions, you can forget what that feels like.

You can get out of practice. And then you look up one day and realize you miss what those conversations felt like.

I mean the laughing around the table kind of conversations. The thoughtful, interesting conversations that made you stay late and continued at the door…and in the driveway…

If any of this sounds familiar, Breaking Bread is completely built for you.

While your hands are busy learning something new (btw - one of the few great ice breakers most people agree on right now), you’ll also be re-awakening your connection and communication skills.

Join us got Breaking Bread on Saturday July 18th and rediscover your communication and connection genius while we bake sourdough together. 🥖

I’ll put the link below 👇

If you’ve ever noticed the what stress can do to communication (makes you say things you don’t mean or say nothing at all when you mean everything) you’re not broken.

You’re human. And probably an overwhelmed human.

That’s exactly why Breaking Bread® exists.

On July 18th, we (me and a small group of very cool people) will bake sourdough together, talk, and practice what it actually feels like to communicate from a regulated, grounded, peaceful place.

Not perfectly. Just mindfully and deliciously.

The (bodacious and brag-worthy) bread you bake is real. 🥖🔥

The conversation is engaging and real.

And the relief of remembering you actually are a great communicator (yes you are!)? Also very real.

Come join us. Breaking Bread may be exactly what you knead!
