Gettysburg Homestead I'm an over the hill, introverted, anxiety ridden, keeping it real kind of person. I have everyday struggles and won't pretend I don't. I'm Mary, the driver.

So buckle up and welcome to the struggle bus. I'm closing in on a half a century years old mama to 2 adult children. One who is on the autism spectrum and still lives with me. We live very close to largest Amish community in Ohio and love the peace and quiet. I love creating with fabric, wool, paper mache, and whatever else I have hidden around my home. I'm not a great cook or baker BUT I do love

trying new recipes even though my daughter has quite a few food aversions. She is also trying new recipes to make on her own as well. Please join me as I navigate life trying to take care of my aging parents, work, helping my daughter, and enjoy the things that keep me sane in life.

My office mate and I were talking about fall decorating today. She said she was going to do hers this weekend. Well, I can't let her win, now can I? Just kidding. I will probably do a little bit as I have to work Monday. She does a Halloween village, which I've seen pictures of and is so awesome. Mine will be more leaves, pumpkins, sunflowers, and such. But I love seeing all styles.

That brings me to my crafting tonight. I remembered I picked up these easels at the thrift store. I've decided to stain them. This is just the 1st coat. I'm nowhere near done 😉. I even pulled out a couple of my clay castings made to see what they might look like on them. The pumpkin is a bit to small, but I can use it elsewhere. I just love creating for fall and Christmas. ❤️

I haven't had time to craft the past couple days, but that doesn't mean I haven't thought about it. I need to add something to the front to tie it all together. I'm thinking about adding the flannel from the back to the pocket. But then I thought about adding just a solid color to pull from the flannel like red somehow to the front. I'd really like something on the side with no pocket.

P.S. Guess who is getting talked to today and it isn't me. She tried another shenanigan this morning having the people she thinks she is in charge of copying her on all emails sent to me. I forwarded a copy to her boss and the boss above asking why she is on every email. If she wants to do my job she can and take me off the emails. 😡

If you at first you don't succeed try again. I attempted to machine stitched around the flower.. multiple times and it did not turn out like I wanted. So I ripped it out and decided to basically do a reverse applique with hand stitching. I feel like I want to wash it before I decide to add anything else to the back. I really want to see how it frays and decide from there. Maybe I won't need anything. 🤷‍♀️
