New Digs for Peace, Love and Cupcakes!
Starting next weekend, March 2nd, we'll be opening in our new home at 59 Tinker Street! It's not hard to find, we're just across the street from where we were for 12 years. But this is MORE than just a new place to sell our cupcakes. It was where Bob Dylan had his office for 7 years and wrote so many of his songs in "The White Room" looking down on Tinker Street. Among them---Mr. Tambourine Man, It Ain't Me Babe, Subterranean Homesick Blues, as well as his album "Another Side of Bob Dylan."
Downstairs from "The White Room" was the legendary Cafe Espresso, where sooooo many of the music elite of the 60's would hang out. Everyone---from Dylan, Joan Baez, The Band, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Peter of Peter, Paul and Mary, etc.---was there. And my little shop is in the part of the cafe that was the special "back room" where they would congregate. How cool is that!
And wait till you see what Happy Life Productions has done with the walls! So many amazing photos of Dylan in The Cafe Espresso as well as famous show posters, drawing and paintings from the 60's as well. Mike Dubois--owner of Happy Life next door--is a pioneer in the creation of contemporary music art and has been commissioned by everyone from The Dead, Levon, The Stones and everyone in between! His amazing art is displayed at the new PL&C as well! Hope you can drop by soon!
