My girls are working overtime and we’re drowning in eggs! 🐔 Since I'm getting over 20 a day, I’m dropping the price to just $1 a dozen to clear out the fridge. These are all fresh and potentially fertile since our rooster is very active, so just let me know if you want them unwashed for hatching. I’m also thinking about starting the incubator to sell peeps for $2 each, though those wouldn't be ready until the week of May 11th at the earliest. Did you know unwashed eggs can keep in the refrigerator for up to 6 months? 👀 That’s twice as long as washed eggs! So if you don’t plan on using your eggs right away, unwashed might be a egg-cellent 🥚 choice for you!

Last week at The Mourning Crumb we tackled something brand new—our very first chicken butchering, right here at home! 🐓✂️
It wasn’t glamorous, but it was worth it. Fully processed, this bird came out to 8.2 pounds. Definitely a proud moment—and I’ve got a feeling my butcher (a.k.a. Curt 😂) will be processing more chickens in the future.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of collecting eggs—every single one still makes me smile. What doesn’t make me smile? The wild hunt I have to go on for them. Honestly, I’m starting to think they believe Easter lasts all year.
