M&T Events is a Mother and Daughter owned Home Bakery with a unique twist. We help our customer create their dream cake no matter what event it is, be it a wedding, Gala, or just a fantastic get together. We treat our customers as if they are part of our family and make sure that they get exactly what they want. We pride ourselves on our creativity and our ability to give our customers exactly

what they are asking for. As custom cake bakers, we pride ourselves in making all of our decorations at least 90% edible and we hand make and airbrush all of our custom flowers. 🎂 A Life Well Built, A Journey Well Traveled Happy 80th, Surider! 🏗️✈️

This one was extra special for us planned entirely online with his amazing daughter, who wanted every detail to honor the incredible life her father has lived. We never got to meet Surider in person, but by the time we finished this cake, we felt like we knew him.

Surider came to the U.S. from India and built an extraordinary career as a Building Engineer, leaving his fingerprints on bridges and buildings across DC. So we brought his blueprints to life literally! The top tier is topped with rolled-up building plans, and a gold gear-and-compass emblem takes center stage, a nod to the precision and vision he brought to every project. A delicate gold bridge wraps around the base, honoring the very structures he helped bring to life.

But Surider’s story isn’t just about what he built it’s about where life has taken him since. A passport, boarding pass, vintage suitcase, and travel journal capture his love of exploration, while a tiny sun hat and potted plant nod to his greener passion: gardening. We even worked in a bed of “soil” across the cake, dark and textured, like the garden beds where he spends his peaceful mornings.

A single rose softens all that engineering precision, and a little wooden signpost says it best: Dream. Explore. Discover.

Here’s to 80 years of building things that last bridges, gardens, and a family that clearly adores him. Happy birthday. 🥂🌹
