LORD, MAGNIFY MY EFFORTS!
And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. 2 Kings 7:5

Psalm 1:3 says that whatsoever the blessed man does shall prosper. This blessed man is the one that does not move with the wicked, the ungodly or seat in the company of mockers. Moreover, this blessed man is that one that delights in the word of the Lord and meditates upon it day and night. This is the man that is cut out for good success according to Joshua 1:8. In 2 Kings 7:1, when Prophet Elisha prophesied that in 24 hours, there will be surplus, whereas there had been a great scarcity to the point of people eating their children, no one could have anticipated that it would be lepers that the Lord was going to use. However, when we traced the steps of these lepers and saw how the Lord moved, we can picture what this new season we have just come into will look like.

In studying 2 Kings 7:3-7, I found out that these 4 lepers did not sit idle, they too wanted their situation to change, they agreed to take the steps together, there was no division among them as they stepped out in faith. They did not fear. In this new season, the Lord is said to do great things in righteousness for those who scriptures describe in Psalm 1, those who will live in obedience to the command of the Lord and those who are ready to step out in faith as these 4 lepers did, the Lord will magnify the efforts that they will take and amplify their steps so that they will get maximum result. This new season shall be one of harvest, results, maximal yields and optimal results for those who love the Lord and whose steps the Lord will direct. Your season of harvest, result, increase, enlargement of territories and restoration has come! From this point, you shall become a distributor, a dispenser and a channel of blessings including silver and gold! Happy New Month!

Additional References: 2 Kings 7:1-7; Psalm 1

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new month and a new day! Lord, by your mercy, maximize every effort that I shall make in this season, enlarge my coast, amplify my steps and make me a distributor of blessings, in Jesus’ Name!

LET GOD USE YOU!
And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 2 Kings 7:3

God can use anybody and can use anything too to bring what He has purposed to do to pass. In Luke 19:28-44, during Jesus' Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem, some Pharisees asked Jesus to tell His disciples to stop shouting Hosanna, but Jesus told them in verse 40 that if His disciples keep quiet, stones will cry out immediately. This means that nobody is that indispensable to God. He has many alternatives. Even when Elijah was complaining that he was the only prophet who was left. God told him that He reserved 7,000 prophets who have never bowed to Baal. This shows that it is a privilege to be sent and used by God for any work or assignment.

When Prophet Elisha gave a prophetic declaration in 2 Kings 7:1 that by this time tomorrow, “a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria”, no one could have thought that it was lepers (who were outcasts and societal rejects) that the Lord would use. The Lord so did it that the 4 of them agreed concerning what they were going to do, and magnified their steps to the point that the Syrians thought that they heard the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!” This was how they fled and left everything they brought to the camp and the prophecy of Elisha came to pass through these 4 lepers. They saw the blessings first and were the first partakers of everything including the silver and gold.

Even today, let nobody think that they know exactly how God will bring to pass the promises He gave them. He can use anybody He would, therefore, let’s not cage God by telling Him how to solve our problems or give us any breakthrough that we desire. Let’s not peg God or limit Him. For God to use any person is the greatest honor a man can have because He made man for His glory. As many that want God to use them, they must be ready to take risks, step into situations by faith, be fearless and not be procrastinators. For you who are open for God’s use, you must be ready to take steps without procrastinating, this is your season, and you shall be the first partaker of the fruit with great rewards! No stone, and no man will take your place before God! Have a very fruitful week!

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, I am available, so use me and let no man or stone ever take my place in Jesus’ Name!

FAVOR ME EXCEEDINGLY!
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:28

Favor is favor as many would say. However, there are different categories of favor and levels of favor. While some must ask before they get favored, some may have suffered so much before a little bit of favor comes to them. Also, some may not ask at all, it is only a thought in their heart that will cause that favor to fall on their laps. This last category is what anyone will choose. This is what is described in Isaiah 65:24 that “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” This is your portion, in Jesus’ Name!

I observed two different grades of favor in Luke chapter 1. From verse 5-25. We saw how Angel Gabriel interacted with Zechariah concerning the birth of John the Baptist while in verses 26-38, we saw how the same Angel Gabriel interacted with Mary concerning the birth of Jesus Christ. While Zechariah and Mary asked the same types of questions, in verse 19 and verse 34, both of them wanted to know how it would happen. While the angel answered Mary and described things for her, going further to point her to a destiny helper, he told Zechariah that he would be dumb till the birth of his son and indeed he made him mute. While Mary’s visitation was sweet and tender, Zechariah’s was a little bit on the rough side. I can clearly identify that Zechariah was favored while Mary was highly favored or profusely favored.

Any time, it is about the Messiah, there is profuse favor or exceeding favor and this is the portion of them that love the Lord because eye has not seen, ear has not heard and it has not entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love Him. “Therefore, for you who love the Lord with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself, God’s exceeding favor is your portion. In this season of great wonders by His mercy, the Lord will give you that way that before you call, He will answer and while you are still speaking, He will hear you. Yours will be like Mary’s who never prayed for the kind of favor that befell her, not the Zechariah’s type that they prayed till their old age! Yours will be called Favor as with a shield! Enjoy the Lord’s exceeding favor! Have a glorious weekend!

Additional References: Luke 1:5-38; Matthew 22:37-39; 1 Corinthians 2:9

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, favor me exceedingly like Mary. Lord, according to Isaiah 65:24, answer me before I call, and hear me while I am still speaking! Lord, favor me exceedingly, in Jesus’ Name!

HELP FOR YOUNG PEOPLE & THEIR FAMILY
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15

Hebrews 4:12 says” "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (NIV) We live in a world that is miles apart, very different from what it was 30 to 40 years ago, and this has kept us wondering how it can be made better for our young people who will one day become the leaders of this world. There are some past leaders that the world could be proud of and there are some whose names people do not want to remember or have anyone mention around them. If we go by scriptures, Proverbs 14:34 says that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to a people. Righteous living gets the Lord’s promotion no matter what.

The world has gone so corrupt, so depreciated value-wise and in morality that the truly righteous would not want anything to do with some leaders no matter what nation, state, ward or local areas these people govern. In all honesty, there are some leaders that I do not want to meet because of their lack of character, therefore, I consider meeting them a waste of precious time. What I do know is that leadership is influence, therefore parents need to guard and guide their children with all diligence these days.

Parents must begin to put the word of God inside their children from infancy like Timothy’s mother and grandmother did. Behold, he turned out to become a vessel unto honor for the Lord. (2 Tim 3:15; 2 Tim 2:20-21)
Educate them in God’s word as the Lord commands those that are His in Deuteronomy 6:6-7 to “teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.)
Intentionally train them in the way that they should go so that when they grow up, they will not depart from that way. Proverbs 22:6
In case you didn’t know better and now they are grown up and even becoming parents themselves, you just must pray for them without ceasing. Help them to see the need for them to know the Lord and His Word for themselves and for their children to begin from infancy.

Some benefits of the Word of God for the next generations can be seen below:
Psalm 119:9-11 “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Note that the Word helps a pure person to maintain purity, guards and guides him from iniquity especially when they internalize the word by memorizing them and deeply absorbing divine truth into their thoughts.
2 Timothy 3:15-17 says: “and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.” (NASB)

According to Ephesians 2:10, we are created for good works, and Jesus came and did good works, so that we all ought to know this. I pray for multiplied grace upon us all who have the responsibility of helping others to become who the Lord has destined them to be. May the word of God bless us all with all the loaded benefits and infuse life upon every parent, guardian and the next generation and cause you and your children to prosper and have good success to become eternal excellencies and the joy of many generations, in Jesus’ Name!

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, help me and my family to know and embrace your Word and cause it to prosper me and my children, give us good success and help us to become eternal excellencies and the joy of many generations, in Jesus’ Name!

WHERE ART THOU?
And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Genesis 3:9
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.1 John 2:16

Like the Lord God called Adam after He fell into the deceit of Satan, saying “where art thou” to make him realize that he was not where He (God) had placed him; that the glory had departed from him, that he has been disconnected from Him (God), that he had failed in his duty to shield his wife from fellowshipping and listening to the voice of another, that he has now gone from fellowship into hiding from Him (God) and fear, this is how the Lord is calling many humans and asking them “Where are thou?”

It is very sad to let us know that most humans are not in their purpose, not doing what the Lord created them to do and most importantly, not living right and therefore, have moved off course. This is why we have chaos and crises as the order of the day. Just as it happened to Adam and Eve, many humans are now under the control of Satan, having been won over when they fell to “the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life: 1 John 2:16. These were the same ways that Satan tempted Jesus Christ in Matthew 4:1-11, but He did not fall. The problem with many humans is that they did not realize that they are in the image and in the likeness of God even in their unique ways, therefore, they want to be like the other person who was made in the image and likeness of God.

What people need to understand is that our purpose is in God and when we believe in Jesus Christ, He begins to bring His purpose into our lives. Note that the purpose is to do God’s will on earth as it is in heaven (Luke 11:2) and therefore to show forth His praises (which means to bring glory to the Lord). Acts 10:38 says “ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Like Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power is the way that the Lord wants us to be, therefore, whoever that does not have the Holy Spirit in him is not living and cannot fulfill the mandate of God for his life. Moreover, whosoever that is not living the life of God is missing and needs to trace his way back to God by asking the Lord Jesus to come into his life and take up residence so that the Holy Spirit can come in and dwell inside of him and empower him to begin to do the good that God has destined for him to do even before the world began according to Ephesians 2:10.

For you who are in the will of God and need not be asked “where are thou”, you are living the abundant life of God, and before long you will begin to confess that you are living in heaven on earth!

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, help me to keep standing and never be displaced or be asked “where art thou” by you. Bless me indeed, cause be to find my purpose, to show forth your praises on earth and live in heaven while on earth, in Jesus’ Name!

FUTURE LEADERS - ARE YOU SETTLED ENOUGH TO LEAVE?
And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. Exodus 33:11

As we were joking and making fun of some of the things we have done in the past, a cousin told me how she was praying with all seriousness as they just did the benediction in church. She said that as she kept praying a little bit longer than most people would do, she didn't even know that the pastor had left the church but the next thing she heard was her mother (who was visiting her voice telling her that she needed to end the prayers because the pastor already left the church and that they too needed to go home as well. Most of the time, to a new believer, the presence of the pastor is an encouragement to keep them in church. However, if you are believing the Lord for something like Hannah in 1 Samuel chapter 1 who was believing the Lord for a child and needed to pray for a breakthrough that also involves a vow, please continue to stay and flog that situation out like Hannah did. Thank God, Pastor Eli was there observing her and spoke a word that changed things for her forever.

Sometimes, the pastor may have gone home like Moses left the tent of meeting to the camp in Exodus 33:11, but his assistant, Joshua stayed behind. If you are believing the Lord to make you, enlarge your coasts, bless you indeed, make you relevant in your generation, make your name great, make you a channel of blessing indeed or help you (a young person like Joshua who will someday end your apprenticeship by stepping into very big shoes like Moses’), going home because your pastor left will be a sign of unseriousness and not ready to take one’s place in life and in destiny.

As a person who needs to be who the Lord has destined him to become, you need the Lord’s approval for that next level – Joshua needed to be devoted to taking care of anything like cleaning up after Moses met with the Lord, the apprentice needed to show devotion to the trade, needed to study to show himself unto God as a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15) No matter what one is aspiring to become or expecting to receive from the Lord, we need not copy and emulate others (who may be expecting their blessings and promotion from fellow humans). it is God that blesses according to Psalm 75:5-6. One must note that no matter what one’s expectations are in life, it is the Lord that makes men who He has destined them to be (Gen 1:26, Matthew 4:19, Ephesians 2:10). Another thing to note is that we are in a season where the Lord is making and lifting His own who have satisfied His requirements and have received His seal of approval, therefore, no matter who you are and what you are reaching for in life, stay in prayers, stay at the altar, hold unto Him like Joshua (who ended up taking the people to the promised land) did and Jacob whose destiny was changed, became a prince who ruled with God and got his descendants blessed forever! As you stick with the Lord, you shall inherit blessings, rule with God in life and become an eternal excellency and a joy of many generations, in Jesus Name!

Additional References: Exodus 33:7-11; Psalm 75:5-6; 2 Timothy 2:15. Genesis 32:22-32

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, help me to be devoted to you, and give me the staying power to wait till my change comes. Bless me indeed, enlarge my territories and give me good success, in Jesus’ Name!

EXPERIENCE COUNTS
But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him: 1 Kings 12:8

My pastor once told me that the essence of having a mentor is so that one can learn from them and not have to go through those rough, tough and ugly experiences that they went through. This invariably means that one will learn from their mentor’s experiences. Though the younger generation see themselves as very smart and fast, there is a need to stoop to learn from the older generation (their elders). In many cases, ignoring the counsel of the elders could mean ignoring wisdom and going with foolishness which is very costly.

Proverbs 19:20 says “Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.” This is what King Solomon’s son, Rehoboam painfully found out after he rejected the counsel of elders (who had served his father Solomon) to lighten the harsh labor and the heavy yoke that his father put on the people while his father was king. Do you know that the elders knew exactly how to solve that problem that existed while they served Solomon? Unfortunately, the younger people who were all about being leaders and showing off their toughness advised him to increase the people’s burdens and Rehoboam accepted it and lost the kingdom except the tribe of Judah to Jeroboam. (See 1 Kings 12:8-16)

Some of the things that the younger generation should understand about life are that:
• When people submit to anyone in leadership, it is not because they lack wisdom, it is because God has placed them under that leader.
• Great leadership requires godly wisdom to succeed.
• By strength shall no man prevail – there are stills that are required to lead people, not toughness or iron-hand.
• Goodness and kindness preserve while toughness, iron handedness or brutality robs people of greatness, purpose, and other blessings.

Rehoboam’s experience has shown us that the experience of elders’ help and their counsel still counts for anyone who wants to go far in life. Therefore, for you who will seek and not neglect the experience and advice of elders will fulfill purpose, will not falter, and will be guarded with wisdom and understanding! Do have a very prolific week!

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, help me to succeed in life, give me the wisdom to seek and appreciate wise counsel. Bless me indeed, enlarge my territories and give me good success, in Jesus’ Name!

PREPARING FOR GREATNESS?
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: Isaiah 1:19

In this season, the Lord is set to exalt the horns of many of His faithful ones. In Ruth chapter 3, we saw how the Moabite, Ruth that came back to Judah with her mother-in-law, Naomi took every advice she gave her and followed every detail. Eventually, Ruth got married to the best and wealthiest Kinsman redeemer that ever was and became part of the genealogy of David and even our Lord, Jesus Christ. Indeed, if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land! See Ruth 3:1-9)

Another person that took advice and became great was Esther. It was her uncle who raised her, Mordecai, who told her about the vacancy and how to apply. Mordecai guided her through all the process and even when he told her not to disclose her identity yet till when she became a queen. Just like Ruth and Esther, everyone that is going somewhere in life needs to learn from Ruth and Esther. For any person who wants to have good success in life must have the following:
• One must be obedient to the voice, command and will of the Lord and those who He has put as the authority over us, destiny helpers, etc. Deuteronomy 28:1, Isaiah 1:18
• It is also great to recognize the people who God has put in our lives as destiny helpers like Ruth has Naomi and Esher has Mordecai.
• Fasting and Prayers are very necessary to prepare for what the Lord has in store for us. Esther used it to get to the palace to win favor from the king. If you have a critical assignment, embark on fasting. This will help things to work for you. We use fasting to secure the blessings and fasting to maintain the blessings too. Mark 9:’ Esther 4:1-16.
• Pray for wisdom & understanding. Esther could have thought that her beauty got her to the palace and so may not understand that she got there to deliver her people. When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Know what the purpose of the blessing is, so that you will not abuse the privilege. Esther 4:12-14.
For you who will be armed with these tips and more, you shall eat the choicest of the land, blessings shall overtake you, the Lord shall set you on high and you shall be a reference point for generations to come!

Additional References: Ruth 3:1-9; Esther 4:1-16.

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Lord, by your mercy, help me as I prepare for and to fulfil my destiny. Help me to listen and obey you. Bless me indeed, and beyond my wildest imaginations, in Jesus’ Name!

HOW TO BE MADE
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19
And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. Exodus 32:14

For those who may be thinking that it is men that make people, let it be known that it is God who makes people and gives power to men to be instruments of making other humans. According to John 15:5, without God, we can do nothing. We know from Genesis 1:26 that ever before humans existed, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit said “let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the…” Moreover, in Matthew 4:19, as Jesus was calling his disciples, He said to Peter and Andrew, his brother, to follow Him and He will make them. There should be no doubt that it is God who makes men.

Maybe out of ignorance, devilish attraction, pride, greed or recklessness, some people fight their ways into being made what was not in the mind of God originally. Jacob did not need to cooperate with his mother, Rebecca to steal the blessing meant for Esau because God knows how to bring to pass what He has destined for him. This is how every human needs to know God’s purpose and plans for their lives so that they will not want to become anything or everything that dangles itself before them. Let’s not deceive ourselves, many people are not in the will of God because they just grab onto anything that comes their way. Moses in Exodus 32:9-14 made us know how not to become anything which invariably means how to say “no” to becoming anything even if it comes from a good place.
After the golden calf that Aaron made when Moses went to get the commandments from the Lord, the Lord wanted Moses to leave Him to destroy His own people who He had brought out of Egypt. In Exodus 32:10, the Lord told Moses the following: “Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.” But Moses interceded, appealed to the Lord, reasoned with Him, reminded Him of the Promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Israel (Jacob) and these made the Lord to change His mind and repented from destroying His people in anger. Moses did not want to be anything other than the Lord had planned for Him originally.

Those who want God to make them, find out God’s plan for their lives, follow it and do not want to deviate, they do not want to usurp other people’s positions, they do not scheme, cheat, deceive, manipulate others to become. They do not conceive evil to become anything nor want to clear others out of the way to become. They know that it is God that makes and so, they follow Him, align with His will for their lives and wait till he accomplishes His purpose for their lives. For you who are like Moses (who can go the length of interceding, and appeal to God for others to become who the Lord has destined them to be while in your own lane), you are an oak of righteousness and an eternal excellency! Great shall be your reward!

Additional References: Genesis 1:26-28; Exodus 32:9-14; Matthew 4:19

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Oh Lord, make me who you have destined me to be and give me the grace to be aligned with your will for my life. Help me not to desire anything other than what you want me to be, in Jesus’ Name!

DON’T LET GO, TAKE YOUR BLESSINGS NOW!
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. Genesis 32:26

1 Peter 5: 10 says that “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” Meanwhile Psalm 126:5-6 says that “ They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” We all want to reap after sowing and want to carry our evidence or result. After attending school, we all want to take home our certificates, diplomas or degrees at the end of it. This is normal thinking because according to Hebrews 11:6, “God is a rewarder and especially of those that diligently seek Him.

The month of August is called the month of New Beginnings, it is a period when those that diligently seek the Lord need to wrestle like Jacob in prayers and hold on to the Lord. Can you imagine that after Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the Lord all night, when it was getting to daybreak, the Angel wanted to leave with the blessing he brought from heaven. This was when Jacob refused to let him go and said to him, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.”

For you who have been wrestling like Jacob, don't let go. How to let go of one’s blessing is by not praying, or by praying and taking unnecessary breaks, or by sleeping (Like Jesus’ disciples while it was time for serious prayers during the critical period like Jacob as well as Jesus faced, or by praying just a little bit (which is opposed to Jesus’ prescription in Luke 18:1-8 and Luke 22.:39-46, For you who have been calling upon the Lord day and night, for you who have been diligently seeking Him, for you who have been wrestling like Jacob, never you let go, stay on course and stay in prayers no matter what is happening, avoid distractions, be focused and like Jacob, the Lord will never disappoints you nor let you see shame! The Lord will come for you speedily, enlarge your territories and bless you beyond your wildest imagination! Have a very prolific week!

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a new day! Oh Lord, for holding on and not giving up, Lord, come through for me speedily, enlarge my territories and bless me indeed, beyond my wildest imagination, in Jesus’ Name!
