The science cake… People think that making cakes is no science, but in fact it can be. The marble effect that you see in the green portion of the cake was unintentional. It happened because I tried to smooth out the colored Swiss meringue buttercream after it had been chilled. The constant friction with the smoother can warm up the buttercream and heat intensifies colors; thus I ended up with a marbled effect. Did that ruin the cake? Well from the design perspective, a little. From the tasting perspective, it was absolutely fine. Happy birthday to my son for whom I made these science hand painted cookies and cake 🧪.
