Out completing a night of deliveries and finishing up at one of our absolute FAVORITE resorts, Hard Rock Hotel! 🎸🤘🏻

Seriously, this place is freaking amazing. Every time I’m here I’m reminded that I need to actually come here for fun instead of just dropping off orders! 😂

BUT… tonight had a few firsts!

First I officially completed my FIRST EVER SHEET CAKE! 🎂🙌🏻

For those who know me, you know I’m usually behind the scenes doing deliveries, orders, messages, social media and whatever else needs to get done. So actually making a sheet cake from start to finish? I’ll take that win! 😂

And then, because apparently one new thing wasn’t enough…

I’m officially trying an audiobook for the first time! 🎧

And because I clearly don’t know how to start small, I went straight to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. 🪄⚡️

So here I am, driving around at stupid o’clock in the morning, making deliveries, listening to Harry Potter and feeling pretty damn accomplished after making my first sheet cake. 😂

Not a bad night!

Now the important question… what audiobook should I tackle after Harry Potter? 👀

THURSDAY UPDATE!

Today started off great… getting the kids out the door, trying to get myself to an appointment, and rushing around like absolutely crazy. 😂

Well… I grabbed what I thought were my sunglasses and let’s just say… I dropped the ball! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Apparently, today decided to humble me before I even got started. 😂

BUT… we’re moving right along!

I’m working on shipping orders and resort deliveries today, so if you’ve got something coming from us, I’m on it! 📦🍪

Also… NEW SHIPPING MENU COMING MONDAY NIGHT! 🚨

A little personal post tonight… ❤️

I don’t usually share much of the behind the scenes personal stuff on our business page, but I figured I’d give you all a little glimpse into life around here lately. 😂

With Sammi being in the hospital for the next month, things at home have definitely changed a bit.

So right now, I’ve apparently been promoted to Dad, Cook, Housekeeper, Laundry Service, Homework Assistant, Chauffeur, Schedule Coordinator, and Professional Finder of Things That Were “Right There.” 😂

Basically, I’m doing all the things that normally get split between two people and trying to keep everyone fed, happy, clean, and where they’re supposed to be.

Tonight’s gourmet dinner was pita pizzas for the kids. 🍕😂

Was it fancy? Absolutely not.

Did everyone eat? Yep.

Did I consider that a successful dinner? 100%. 😂

And then, of course, there’s the business!

I know some people may be wondering how things are going with everything happening at home, so I want to reassure everyone that it is still business as usual around here!

We are still accepting orders, still getting orders made and delivered, still answering messages, keeping customers updated, and doing our best to keep everything moving just like always.

Is life a little more chaotic right now? Definitely.

Am I occasionally answering a business message while making dinner, doing laundry, or trying to figure out why someone needs something they literally just had five minutes ago? Also definitely. 😂

There are definitely days where I feel like I’ve got everything under control… and days where I’m pretty sure I’m just successfully putting out one small fire at a time. 😂

But the kids are taken care of, the orders are going out, the business is moving forward, and we’re taking things one day at a time.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been so patient, supportive, understanding, and continuing to support our small business during this time. ❤️

It truly means more than you know.

So don’t be shy, send us your orders! 😁 it’s our busiest season!

And if anyone has a really good recipe for something kid friendly that can be made with approximately zero effort… I’m all ears. 😂🍕

If you are waiting on a reply to an email or order submission, I will be hopping on tomorrow!

I’ve been battling tons of contractions this week & settling into life as an antepartum patient.

If you didn’t know, due to the risk of uterine rupture, I will be hospitalized until baby girl is born.

It was weird leaving home pregnant & knowing I was not coming back pregnant.

Mac has officially taken over business operations & is embracing being both parents at the moment.

My thoughts are with him but thankfully we have great kids! Hopefully they aren’t too hard on him!

My virtual assistant has been out all week with sick kiddos herself & I have been focused on staying pregnant.

So, I will be hopping on to help her catch up tomorrow!

With fall approaching, two of my personal favorite things are FOOTBALL and HORROR NIGHTS! 👻🏈

Both are kicking off this weekend, so you know I’m ready!

And if you want to count football (soccer), the Premier League started this past weekend, and after the World Cup, the kids are absolutely loving it! ⚽️

LET’S GO LIVERPOOL! 🔴

Of course, I’m talking about College Football too. And honestly, with the amount of money some of these players are making now, it’s starting to feel a whole lot like the pros! 😂

If you remember just over a year ago, I had a MAJOR partial thickness burn in the kitchen to my lower leg.

I was making sticky buns & if you didn’t know, those are made upside down.

As I flipped my pan onto a plate that wasn’t quite big enough, the boiling caramel splashed onto my leg.

This is what made the injury so much worse… the caramel contained oils so it was the equivalent to a grease burn.

Someone on here who was very obviously in healthcare sent me collagen, protein, & other supplements to promote healing. I took those religiously! THANK YOU IF YOU ARE STILL ON HERE!!!

It was a rough recovery with 2 ER trips, multiple debridement sessions, & visits to a burn center.

Now a year later, you can BARELY see the scaring!
I got so lucky!

I want everyone to know that we proudly operate under Florida Cottage Food Laws. It’s even on my website.

Nothing I make & sell is time or temperature controlled.

We have abided by those laws since day 1 & have done so for almost 6 years now.

Yes, even my cream cheese frostings.
The emulsions & flavor oils I use are shelf stable & contain no time/temperature controlled ingredients so they are cottage law compliant.

My frosting that everyone loves is a high ratio shortening base, not butter.

My donut glazes also contain no dairy.

I spent YEARS developing these recipes. This dates back to 2010 when I first started developing my recipes & my mom would yell at me for recipe testing at 11PM 🤣

There are lots of other bakers out there that don’t care, they just want to make money.

So please keep yourself & your family safe.

Make sure that if you are purchasing from a cottage bakery, that you are buying cottage law approved items.

This means:
- No cut fruits unless baked into a dough, not just sitting on top or served on the side.
- No dairy based frostings & glazes (no butter or refrigerated margarine)
- No meats or anything that is baked & contains meat
- No eggs unless baked into a cake
- No dairy based ganaches
- No cheese such as cheddar jalapeño breads
