I visited the Granite State yesterday. Our neighbors to the left have a pretty nice back yard. I didn't get a picture of the black bear I saw loping across Passaconaway Road. What an interesting, unique gait. You know what I mean if you've ever seen one run.

The Moxie Fest was a lot of fun. My cover art was beautifully painted with real canvas, paint, and talent by my niece, Élise Bolduc. A Moxie reader exclaimed the art was lovely to see among all the AI generated graphics that surrounded us. Thank you Elise! The cover never stops getting compliments!

July 4th in Brooksville, Maine. The new volunteer fire barn, a 1950 Ford Custom Sedan and a 1966 Corvette. This weekend had America written all over it!

Thanks to The Brooksville Free Public Library for hosting our Thursday night get-together on July 2nd. And thank you, readers who braved the heat. We had a nice evening. A beautiful art show was hanging all around me.

The Brooksville Free Public Library is excited to welcome Maine author, Philip Baker on Thursday, July 2nd at 6pm.

"Philip C. Baker’s first classes in creative writing were at Colby College. He has attended workshops in the thriller genre in New York. Philip has studied further in New York, Boston, and Portland with several best-selling authors. He has traveled on five continents and driven over a million miles. He managed a drill rig in Nevada, prospecting for gold. He searched for precious metals in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. He has sold sporting goods, wheels, and snow and ice removal equipment in New England. He grew up in Falmouth, Maine sailing on Casco Bay and enjoying where the land meets the sea. Now, he lives in southern Maine with his family and two rescued beagles who find great sport in growling at blowing leaves, barking at squirrels, and baying at the moon. Hunger Hill is Philip’s first full-length novel."
