Never say never, I've had an intense week learning Authentic Italian Cookies and I love making them. Each one is unique with ground nuts or almond flour or polenta, its fun to work with a bunch of new ingredients that I didn't grow up with. I said I'd never make cookies, but when they're a link to another culture, I'm in. Here are 9 of the 14 doughs I made, and the cookies came out perfect.

The Valentine Cookie boxes did well again, I love it when Ye Goodie Shoppe orders them and sells their delicious chocolates presented in an edible box.

Oops, the mixer went crazy. Just when you thought it was OK to leave the room to start the next task the Raspberry Mousse goes nuts!

Here are the two Gingerbread houses I made for Jaffrey special orders. The first time I tried a larger house, the large one is pushing the limits of space a cookie can span. I hope it holds up to the kids decorating it !!

Wow! The gingerbread season has been great, better every year. I took a dozen to Dublin General store, then a reorder for 18, and a week later another 18!! The other locations are doing well, Sunflowers in Jaffrey has houses and boys, and now they only have 1 house left and 8 boys. I did get 2 special orders from there, one for a larger house, with dormers, but undecorated so the kids could do it themselves, I'll post a pic soon. And an affair in Boston wanted them for traditional treats, Wow now the gingerbread boys have been to Boston !!

Its December and the Gingerbread Boys are back. I made 4 dozen and delivered them to the shops last Tues., now I just wait for reorders. Last year I was in danger of selling ALL the boys I had made, but Sophia insisted I keep 5 for Christmas morning, as she had grown up with them, one of our traditions, light the candles on the tree, a bowl of fresh cherries, and a gingerbread boy.

A good year so far for Gingerbread Houses. Sold ten and have two on order and its not even Dec. 1 yet. I'm usually in the moment and the first year I made these I felt the spirit around Dec.10, made a dozen and then spent the next 14 days running around like crazy to get rid of them.
