Today my daughter had a snow day and asked me to pick up her friend to hang out with...who she spends nearly every day with. Here were my suggestions instead:
Read a book
Study for school
Bake something
Research something online
Use a website like orbitz and TripAdvisor to plan a trip anywhere in the world. See how much it costs. Then try to make it cheaper
Do a puzzle
Start a business!
She gave me a bland response to which I replied she will be proud of herself and feel fulfilled if she were to do something productive.

Trying to be a good father goes beyond just keeping them safe and doing what they ask. Helping them grow as a person is more my style.
