With the last week of Sweet Somethings winding down, I would like to say thank you all for the love and support you have shown us these past 28 years. I will miss seeing all of your faces and hearing your stories. Your mark on me is indelible and has become part of who I am. If you find yourself on or near Union st. between now and Saturday at 3, please stop on by. I’d love to see you one last time.

Thank you all for your truly heartfelt responses. I am honored and humbled. As I look forward to finally being able to take some time for myself and family, I want you to know I will forever remember your faces and your stories. You allowed me into your homes and important life events. That means something. Know that is not lost on me. I did notice some of you were concerned this might not have been intentional. Know that it was and it was time for me to step away and enjoy life with a few less strings. I welcome this new chapter and do hope I get to bump into you from time to time.

It is with deep sadness, and yet, profound sense of pride that I write this post. My tenure at Sweet Somethings will be drawing to a close on September 30th. I have had the wonderful fortune of watching this “idea" slowly take shape in 1997 in my home at the time, and grow into what you have all come to know as Sweet Somethings today. It has been a pleasure to work with some of the greatest employees in the business, and to be a part of Wilmington’s community all these years. While there have been many trials along the way, I can’t say I would change much on how we grew as a company, and weathered the storms. I will always cherish the memories of our wonderful customers and the spot we filled in this community. While I will no longer be the face at the bakery that you have come to know over the years, the new owners have commited to upholding our standards and recipes as well as keeping our current staff. I am confident that I am leaving this bakery in good hands, and while you won’t see Sweet Sometings on the windows anymore, you should still experience what you have come to expect from Sweet Somethings continuing forward.

With that said, from the very bottom of my heart, I thank you all and I wish you all a very fond farewell.
