I wanted to let everyone know if you've tried to message me lately I've been having trouble with my messenger. Not receiving messages and not getting any notification symbols on my phone showing that I have unread messages. I'm having to check my messenger on both this page and my personal page constantly to see if I have any new messages.

Happy birthday Bailey!
It's been a while since I posted! But I thought I'd share this cake I did over the weekend!
Our oldest daughter Bailey will be 13 this week and she asked for this cake from a YouTube series called "Battle for Dream Island" (BFDI)
I had no idea what this was lol but I did research by watching a few episodes with her 😅
Some of my favorite cakes to make are replicas from shows, movies, or games. Last year she had me make a cake from her favorite video game Animal Crossing.
This cake was a 4 layer coconut cake with coconut buttercream. Coconut cream soaked into the layers and sweetened coconut shavings in between.
The characters I printed from my printer and laminated since it was such a specific and not well known show, you can't find any decorations anywhere currently so I made them all lol

The recipient of this cake has an orange corvette just like the little hot wheels there on the bottom!
Super cute. Super clean. And a good change of pace from my more girly cakes I do quite often!

Forgot to post this pretty kitty cake and cupcakes from last Saturday!
It's been a busy few weeks and I'm falling behind on pictures!!
Kitty cake (which I've dubbed Duchess 🤣 IYKYK) is an 8inch vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, buttercream roses, sprinkles and edible glitter!
And a dozen chocolate cupcakes decorated with tiny paw prints 🐾 roses 🌹 and yarn balls 🧶
She was so cute! 😻

Had alot of fun with this one. But yes, my hand was hurting with all that piping! Lol
Donkey piñata was an 8inch round funfetti with vanilla buttercream and mini m&m surprise in the middle!
Smash cake was a 5 inch round funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream.

Today I want to remind everyone, that when your battle is too difficult for you, it isn't too difficult for the Lord.
When you've come to the end of your rope, all you have to do is give it to the Lord and he will pull you up.
God is the same God that pulled his people out of Egypt with many signs, wonders and miracles.
Are your problems and hardships in this day so unconquerable for him?
Give God your problems, be still, and lean on HIS strength.

So, fun fact about me, or picky fact? Idk but I'm not a fan of sheet cakes nor am I a fan of whipped cream frosting... but I did it!! This isn't my first time doing them but I was extremely proud of these 2.
A half sheet vanilla cake with whipped frosting.
With gold sprinkles and gold leaf accent.
And a dozen vanilla easter cupcakes also with whipped frosting and Easter sprinkles!

Happy 4th birthday to my youngest Harlyn!!!
My kids, and my neice and nephews always have the best cake requests.
A 3 layer 8 inch strawberry cake with blueberry cheesecake filling and vanilla buttercream.
She asked for strawberry cake with "blueberry insides" bc she loves blueberries and strawberries. (I added cream cheese filling with blueberry for blueberry cheesecake filling)
She also requested glitter, sprinkles, specific colors of purple pink yellow and blue and of course, candy on top.
She loves "Cry Babies" toys and TV show so that was the topper.

Cupcake flavors:
Chocolate with milk chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache drizzle and chocolate sprinkles.
Pink strawberry with vanilla and strawberry swirl buttercream.
Butter Pecan with brown butter buttercream and pecans baked in and sprinkled on top.
Classic vanilla with vanilla buttercream and sugar sprinkles.
And Carrot cake with cream cheese buttercream.
These were fun to design! I hope you all enjoyed them!! 💖

I had a request to do one of the most unique cakes I've ever done.
A Harry potter/ frog cake from a mom to her daughter to cheer her up.
You don't need to have a birthday, a wedding or a baby shower to have a special cake made!
This one was a 3 layer red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream outside.
I'm not big on using fondant. In fact, I avoid it at all costs. But I heard mushrooms and had to try!

It's been ONE whole year (as of March 9th) since I decided to start Tiers of Joy Homemade Cakes.
With the Lord leading me, I've met some awesome people, heard some amazing stories, and got to be a part of some very special moments in people's lives that I will never forget.
It's an understatement to say I'm not the person I was a year ago. I've learned a lot and I'm still learning every day as Jesus shows me how to step out of my comfort zone and to basically kick fear in the face in more ways than one.
To say he isnt in this would be a lie. He's in every part. This isn't my talent, it's His that he gave to me, and I'll use it to the best of my ability as long as He wants me to. I am so grateful for his many blessings on my life that I still can't comprehend. But I pray these little cakes put a smile on your faces, after all Joy is in the name for a reason.
I'm beyond honored and humbled by everyone's kindness in supporting me over the last year.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Williams!
I had the pleasure and HONOR of making my first 3 tier wedding cake for this sweet couple.
They were such a blessing to me and the Lord knew I needed this challenge!
Bottom tier and top tier- white cake with raspberry and white chocolate ganache filling.
Middle tier- vanilla cake with raspberry and white chocolate ganache filling.
Vanilla buttercream on all 3 Tiers with homemade marshmallow fondant for the ruffles on the bottom.
Gold ring wreath made by me with faux roses and greenery.

The Christmas season is in full swing and my orders have slowed a little.
So I thought, what a good time to finally do an introduction!
My name is Kaitlyn Joy Shiver!
I was born and raised in Williston, FL and base Tiers of Joy, a cottage bakery, through my home here as well.
I have been making and decorating cakes since I was a teenager but I just recently (in March of 2022) decided to start Tiers of Joy after much pushing from family and friends.😅 My mom taught me 90 percent of what I know and I am forever grateful for her wisdom and help throughout the years.
Before I am a cake baker, however, I am a momma of 3 beautiful girls that I homeschool full time, and wife to an amazing, hard working husband of 12 years.

I serve the God of the Bible, Jesus Christ, Elohim, Immanuel.
I devote my life to serve him first, and because I do, he gifted me with a heart to serve others, and yes, that includes CAKES!!
In my 32 years of life, God has shown me he can use ordinary, everyday things, and broken people to do amazing things if they are willing. And does!
