This hurts. I couldn't have gotten as far as I have as a baker without Cake Stuff. From going there for the first time to get piping bags when I was considering starting my home bakery, completely in awe of how many tools, ingredients, decorations, etc. they had, to being asked a year later if I would be interested in teaching cookie and cake classes there, I have loved every second of it. I had to take a break from teaching last year, and I missed it so much! I had planned on coming back to teach this coming June, but I unfortunately won't have the pleasure of working with these wonderful ladies again 🥺 Please continue supporting this family-owned local business as long as you can. They deserve all the love, care, and support we can give. Thank you, Cake Stuff, for all your support, encouragement, confidence, fun, and friendships 🩷

It's been a while, but I'm getting married this next weekend, so we've been busy with life things!

My lovely sister threw me an absolutely breathtaking bridal shower a few weeks ago, and I was insistent that I make my own sugar cookies 😉 I had such a blast making them!

Just a heads up...Gourmade will be at the Goddard Main Street Market on Mother's Day, May 11, 2025, and also at the Garden Plain Vintage Market on June 7th, 2025!

Can't wait to see everyone there!

Hi all!
Big announcement!

As many of you know (or may not know), Gourmade Bakery is my side hustle. For those of you who didn't, here's a bit of info on me 😊 I'm an accountant with a full time job, 3 kids - all of whom are in sports and activities, a house under constant, hefty renovations, and I recently just got engaged to the love of my life, so we've got a wedding to plan now! I think it's safe to say I've got my hands full!

That said, I have come to the very difficult decision to stop taking public orders for the foreseeable future. I do still plan to be a vendor at markets around Goddard and the Wichita area when I'm able, and I will be sure to let you all know ahead of time! I'll also still post pictures of fun things I get to work on here and there. This decision did not come lightly, as baking is my passion, and I have an insanely large support system, but I need to shift my focus to my career, my home, and my family.

I appreciate all of the orders, the referrals, the interest, and the overall support for my love of baking, and hopefully one day when things settle, I can get back to it in full force!

I'm happy to chat with you if you've got questions or concerns...my door is always open!

Happy Sunday, all! I just wanted to post a PSA for all of my customers.

If we agree on a time for you to pick up your cake, cookies, bread, or whatever you have ordered, please please please do your best to be here at that time. No matter how much I'd like to give you all day to pick up your order, it takes quite a bit of time out of my family and I's schedule to wait for you. I completely understand traffic, delays, changes in plans....totally fine! Just do me a solid and communicate that to me! I have had so many instances of people not showing up for their orders (even wedding cakes!) on time, and I will get a call hours later saying they are on their way. That will unfortunately not be tolerated after today. I simply cannot adjust my schedule and miss events due to a delay in pickup if you do not communicate with me. If you DO communicate, and we work something out to adjust the pickup time, that is totally fine!

Bottom line, please be here promptly at the pickup time you requested, or communicate with me no later than the pickup time to move things around if we need to. If orders are not picked up within one hour after the time you chose and I have not heard from you, I will post the order up for a discounted price for others to buy and you will be considered a no-show.

I apologize for the harsh post, but I do my best to respect your time, and I hope to be given the same respect back. I am a very understanding and kind person, and I want to be able to provide you with wonderful goodies for your events! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! 😊

Everybody meet Bread Zeppelin! She's my trusty sourdough starter who absolutely loves doubling in size every time I feed her (yep, she's currently in a gallon jar and she got to the top of the other gallon jar yesterday! I need to upgrade 😉).

I have a pretty hefty schedule for the next few weeks, so I wont be able to take any orders for now, but the first Goddard Main Street Market for 2024 is coming up in April, and there will be plenty of sourdough loaves to purchase, as well as dehydrated sourdough starter with day-by-day instructions to rehydrate her and a beginner sourdough loaf recipe!

Now to go work on some superbowl cookies to show to you all soon!
