Okay… 10,000 suddenly doesn’t feel that far away. 👀

We’re sitting at 9,278 followers, which means we’re only 722 people away from 10K.

So it’s time to bring this one back.

It’s National Sponge Cake Day, which feels a little more personal around here than most made-up food holidays. 😂

Because there’s a reason there’s cake underneath our cheesecake.

When I started making cheesecake, I wanted to follow an old-school New York tradition made famous in Brooklyn: cheesecake baked on sponge cake instead of a graham cracker crust.

The idea always made sense to me. Cheesecake is cake. Why not put cake under the cake? 😏

So most of our cheesecakes at XO desserts start with our own gluten-free sponge cake. It gives you that soft cake-to-cheesecake bite instead of a hard, crumbly crust.

It’s a little piece of New York tradition hiding underneath almost every cheesecake in that case.

So yeah… we’ll celebrate this made-up food holiday. This one actually belongs here. 🍰

🍦 WE NEED A COUPLE MORE SCOOPERS.

Turns out, people really like ice cream and cheesecake. Who knew? 😅

So we’re adding a couple people to the XO crew!

We’re looking for part-time Scoopers who can jump in, take care of our customers, keep things moving when we’re slammed, and hopefully have a little fun while doing it.

💰 Up to $16/hour
🍦 Part-time
🌙 Evening & weekend availability is required

I have a problem.

Every time we say, "Let's slow down on new flavors for a while..."

Someone comes up with another good idea.

So... here we are again. 😅

🍫 Brownie
Brownie base, chocolate brownie batter cheesecake, finished with a chocolate drizzle.

🍪 Cookie Dough
Cookie dough base, chocolate chip cheesecake, chocolate swirl, and real cookie dough on top.

🍋 Limoncello
Our classic sponge cake base with limoncello and Meyer lemon cheesecake.

🔥 S'mores
Graham cracker crust, marshmallow cheesecake, topped with chocolate and a toasted marshmallow.

Some ideas work. Some don't. The fun part is finding out which ones deserve a permanent spot in the case.

So stop by this weekend, try one (or four), and let us know which flavor you'd fight to keep around.
