Yard sale at the home of the former Whitman Cookie Mama! Since I traded in cookies for triathlons, I have quite a few chocolate/sugar molds, some cake pans, and even a 6.5 qt mixer with bowls and a sifter/scale attachment that are all for sale. We put up tents because it’s rainy rainy today. Amelia and I are hanging out on the porch all snuggled up under a blanket.

There’s also some athletic gear I downsized out of, my old Trek bike (I got fancy for this year’s western MA Ironman!), and Amelia’s old queen sized bed frame. Drop questions below if you have them or just stop by.

Hi friends!
I’ve decided not to renew my kitchen license for 2024 which means no more cookie sales. I had very little time for sales this past year due to changing jobs in 2022 and training for my first Ironman (a half, so I’m told I’m only half crazy. The jury is still out on that.). Coupled with the fact that the powers that be kept changing how notifications reached me or didn’t reach me until months later, it became impossible to keep up with messages.

I loved creating cookies, but not as much as I love spending time with my kids and having a healthy body (I’m an athlete…who knew?).

I’ll still bring goodies to parties for family and friends (hi, Mom!), so I’ll post pictures of those. Maybe when I retire from all things data, healthcare, and AI in 20+ years I’ll have more time for cookies! Until then, please enjoy this video of my son who decided to take Broadway by storm and had the clip picked up by the Today Show back in September.

I had so much fun doing this printed order for Alden Kindred. A few years back, I developed a love for genealogy and when I plugged in my maternal grandparents’ information, Ancestry pretty much started shaking its little leaves at me. Always check those sources, but they were correct in this case that we were not Irish as always believed (with a surname of Murphy, who knew?) but had at least 17 Mayflower passengers in our lineage. How fun!

These were for the annual Alden Kindred Reunion. John Alden and Priscilla Mullins (later Alden) were both passengers on that historic ship. Her parents William and Alice, as well as her brother Joseph were as well, but unfortunately did not survive the first winter. John and Priscilla’s daughter, Elizabeth went to live in Little Compton, RI, and her line spread far and wide, eventually leading to yours truly. There were many other kids as well. Oof. Friends, I just saw the inbox. Apologies. The bots at Facebox have officially taken over and I no longer hear about it when there’s a message waiting. As a result, I missed dozens of DMs. Sorry if it seemed like I was ghosting you all! However, I’ve had a bit going on over here and the cookies have slooooowwwed down.

Speaking of bots, I started a new job last April, and just crossed the year mark which is the reason for the slow down. I’m mentally consumed by all things Data Analytics (I mean, my family is still top of the list!) and wouldn’t have it any other way. I work remotely so I’ll still be taking a few cookie orders per month, like this HUGE one that I brought to our recent Leadership Summit in Fargo. Yes, the one in North Dakota.

When I tell you the people there are the kindest, most genuine humans I’ve ever encountered, I’m not exaggerating. If you haven’t been to the Midwest, it’s worth a spot on your bucket list. Just not a spot in January. Or March. Or April really. Maybe wait until there is absolutely no possibility of snow of any kind because they get a TON of it. I thought we were hearty in New England but nope…Fargo wins, hands (and cookies) down.

I finally bought a cookie printer and I just have to laugh at myself. The number of things I’m now realizing were printed and I was in super aw of the person’s artistry 😂.

How did I never post these?! This is how busy I’ve become with all things non-cookie. I started a new day job last April and while I loooovvve everything about it, I’m also super busy and get to travel to the Midwest every now and then. However, I did fit in these adorable baby girl bears, AND I’ll be at the Whitman Tree Lighting again next Saturday. We’re INDOORS this year! Separate post coming on that.
