We know many families travel or have holiday plans that week, so we’re considering switching to a Thursday pickup instead of our usual Friday pickup.

🎉 Happy 1-Year Anniversary to Us! 🎉

One year ago, we accidentally started a bakery. 🤣

At the time, we had no idea what we were doing or whether anyone would even buy what we baked. Ava needed money for her turtle, Tiny, and her dance classes. When I told her our budget was tapped out, we decided we’d have to find a way to earn the extra money she needed

So we set up a little roadside stand with a few handmade signs, 6 loaves of bread, and about 50 cookies.

We were completely shocked when we sold out of bread in just 10 minutes!

Every Tuesday, we baked a little more, and every Tuesday we sold out again. Over time, we added scones, flavored sourdough loaves, cinnamon rolls, brownies, and Christmas cookies, and the support just kept growing.

Fast forward to today, and we’re often booked several weeks in advance with pre-orders. What started as a small project between a mom and daughter has become something far bigger than we ever imagined.

To every customer who has purchased a loaf, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, or supported our little bakery in any way, thank you. Your encouragement and support have made this journey possible.

We’re so grateful for an amazing first year and can’t wait to see what Year 2 brings! ❤️🍞🥐🍪

What a beautiful day it turned out to be!

We have so many exciting milestones to celebrate this month:

🎉 June 3rd – Crumb Cottage’s 1-Year Anniversary
💖 June 6th – My 3-Year Cancer-Free Anniversary
🎂 June 20th – Ava’s 14th Birthday

June is shaping up to be a month full of gratitude, celebration, and reflection. We’re so thankful for the support, encouragement, and kindness you’ve all shown our family and our little bakery over the past year.

Here’s to celebrating life’s big milestones, the small victories, and all the sweet moments in between. ❤️

Behind the Scenes at Crumb Cottage 🥖🍪

There’s so much that happens before our actual bake days!

From grocery shopping and ingredient sourcing to chopping, shredding, and measuring out ingredients for the week, a lot of preparation goes into making sure everything runs smoothly. Taking the time to prep ahead has helped us streamline our process and maintain some balance outside of baking.

With today’s gloomy weather, we decided to tackle a big prep day:
🌶️ Chopped all of our jalapeños
🧀 Shredded cheese for this week’s loaves
⚖️ Measured ingredients for sourdough bread, brownies, and cinnamon rolls
🍪 Rolled and froze 200 cookie dough balls so they’re ready to bake when needed

Whew! I’m exhausted just typing that out! 😅

We truly love what we do and enjoy sharing our homemade, thoughtfully crafted baked goods with our community. Thank you for your continued support and for coming back week after week. Your encouragement means the world to us, and we couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

⚾🍞 We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for our full June menu!

With Ava playing fastpitch softball, our schedule has gotten a little busier this season. Between practices and games three nights a week, and tournaments on most weekends, we’re still working out the best way to balance baking and softball.
