Hey everyone,
I thought I would do something a little different. I realized we have never really introduced ourselves or told our story. Most of you already know us but we have had a lot of new followers recently. I know we are currently not in business but I started thinking.. why stop communicating to you guys? I donāt know when we will be back in business but in the meantime I would like to share our journey and maybe offer advice to you or even some baking tips and recipes. How does that sound? This will be a lengthy post so if you donāt really care you can keep on scrolling but for those who donāt mind a good read please, I invite you to read on.
I would like to give you a brief summary of our story and how we got to where we are today. I guess we can start with introductions. My name is Stephanie and my Husband is James. We are originally from California and moved to Alabama in 2018. āWhy Alabama you ask?ā Well, unfortunately we were not doing so well financially in California and James got a job offer that would pay him more than what he was already making. So we prayed and prayed and finally came to the decision to move. We trekked 2,321 miles in a Uhaul with 2 dogs in the cab! With no family or friends to greet us when we arrived. It was a fun but scary adventure! Jump ahead two years and we reach the year no one likes to speak about. You all know exactly what Iām talking about. š· During this time my husband was out of work due to the unfortunate circumstances that was happening all around the world! He must have been very bored because he had the bright idea to start making bread. He also has the sweetest heart! He thought it would be a great idea to make a bunch of bread and donate it to our church for those who didnāt necessarily want to go to the grocery store. Me on the other hand only thought about how much work this was going to be⦠also we were living in a one bedroom apartment with a tiny kitchen but we some how made it work. I eventually got on board and my heart was put in the right place. We did this weekly for about 2-3 months and itās time ran its course and we were done. A couple of month go by and I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do as a career. Finally it dawned on me.. āwhy not be a baker?ā So I did! And I loved it! We have some amazing friends who supported us all the way through this. (Mostly because they got free bread and sweets to sample. š) we ran a business from our apartment kitchen and started selling at Farmers Markets.
We then had made a huge life altering decision to move into a camper full time in 2022. Some may think we were crazy! But we were paying $1200 a month for a one bedroom apartment. No Thank you!! We knew that this might set us back in our business but we needed to make a drastic change! We wanted to save money so we can live in our dream home one day! There was no way I could run a bakery business from a camper size kitchen! But then the Lord opened doors to keep our business open and we had a very large kitchen to our access. We baked in this kitchen until our time ran out. It was a huge blessing! Then the Lord opened another door. A couple had reached out to us and decided they wanted to provide a kitchen for us and run our business as a store front! It was a huge opportunity that we were truly thankful for, but as we got closer to the finish line things just didnāt pan out the way we thought they would. We soon realized that we were just not ready for such a big step and we felt the Lord was making that very clear to us. This all brings us to present day. Itās been quite a journey thatās for sure.
As for the future⦠I donāt know⦠and thatās okay. š
The best has yet to crumb my friends!
FYI this is an old photošš» but itās still us! š
