Hard work deserves a little hard play.

Needless to say, Theo found the limits of the new Facebook Marketplace find on day 2… by rolling it over. 😂 After a few minor fixes, we got it back up and running and now he’s learned there’s a time to slow down… unless he’s racing Dad on the straightaways.

Honestly though, this little four wheeler has already been worth it. With the milk crate on the back he’s been hauling eggs from the coop, bringing stuff up from the garden, and even helping move rocks to the pile.

Sometimes kids need to test the boundaries to learn where the limits are. Thankfully all he ended up with was a sore thumb and a lesson in the tuck-and-roll. Boys will be boys. 🇺🇸

After a week of watching the frost, praying through the rain, and squeezing in every spare minute we had… we can finally say it:
🌱 The garden is officially IN for the year! 🌱

This last week has been nonstop, but God sure gave us an incredible weekend of weather to finish strong. There’s something good about dirt on your feet and hands, sore muscles, and rows finally planted after a long stretch of hard work.

This year’s garden is our biggest yet:
🍅 28 tomato plants
🌶 24 jalapeño plants
🍓 375 strawberry plants
🧄 100 garlic bulbs
🥔 300 potato slips
🎃 4 pumpkin plants
🥒 3 zucchini plants
🌼 2 yellow squash plants
🌱 5 rhubarb plants
🧅 onions
🥬 lettuce, spinach, and kale
🫐 golden raspberry bushes
🍎 3 apple trees

And on top of all that…
🐥 we added another 175 birds to the 75 we already had
🐈 7 new kittens showed up around the homestead
🐄 Charlie is out grazing and getting nice and fat

Spring is here to stay, and we’re thankful for every bit of it.

Now we wait, water, w**d, and trust the Lord for the harvest ahead.

First off, thank you all again for another sell out weekend. We truly can’t thank everybody enough for the support, the orders, the shares, and for continuing to support our little homestead bakery week after week. It means more to our family than you know.

It’s been a busy, busy weekend around here getting the garden finished up. Feels good to finally have everything planted and in the ground. Now comes the hard work of keeping it growing.

Hoping to get an updated garden video posted sometime this weekend so you can all see how it’s coming along. A lot of long days, sore backs, and muddy boots went into this one, but it’s worth it.

Nothing beats watching a homestead come to life one season at a time. 🌱
